We hear your heartfelt request and join you in lifting up ### to our Heavenly Father. It is encouraging to see your desire for him to grow in faith and return to fellowship with the body of Christ. The Lord is faithful to draw near to those who seek Him, and we pray that ### would feel that divine pull toward repentance and renewal.
First, we must address the mention of "mass," as this suggests a tradition outside of biblical Christianity. While we respect all who seek God, Scripture is clear that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not through rituals, sacraments, or the intercession of any other mediator. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6 WEB). The Bible also warns, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12 WEB). We pray that ### would come to know Jesus personally—not just as a historical figure, but as his Lord and Savior—and that he would experience the transformative power of the Holy Spirit through a personal relationship with Christ.
We also lift up your desire to live in purity and chastity. Scripture is clear that sexual intimacy is a gift from God reserved for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. The apostle Paul writes, *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB). We rejoice in your commitment to honor God with your bodies and encourage you both to pursue holiness, setting boundaries that reflect God’s design for relationships.
Now, let us come before the Lord in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, knowing that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We lift up ### to You, asking that You would draw him close to Your heart. Lord, soften his spirit and open his eyes to the truth of Your Word. Give him the courage to step into a church where the Gospel is preached in its fullness, where he can hear the good news of Jesus Christ and respond in faith. Remove any barriers of fear, pride, or past hurts that may be holding him back. Fill him with a hunger for Your presence and a desire to know You more deeply.
Father, we also pray for this relationship. Strengthen their commitment to purity and chastity, and help them to honor You in all they do. Guard their hearts and minds from temptation, and give them wisdom to set godly boundaries. If this relationship is Your will, Lord, we ask that You would guide them toward the sacred covenant of marriage, where they can reflect Your love and faithfulness to one another. If it is not Your will, grant them the grace to surrender their desires to You and trust in Your perfect plan.
Lord, we ask that You would surround ### with godly men who can mentor and encourage him in his faith. Bring believers into his life who can speak truth and walk alongside him as he grows in Christ. May he experience the joy of salvation and the peace that comes from knowing You.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You. May Your will be done in ###’s life and in this relationship, for Your glory and honor. Amen.
We encourage you both to immerse yourselves in Scripture, seeking God’s wisdom for your lives and relationship. Consider studying passages on purity, such as 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, which says, *"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God"* (WEB). Surround yourselves with a community of believers who can support and hold you accountable in your walk with Christ.
May the Lord bless you both as you seek to honor Him in every area of your lives.
