Prayer For Love To Persevere

Heavenly Father, Your word tells us about love:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Please Father, I stand upon the power of Your word and I beg of You to let the love that brought my husband and I together persevere. Please let the perseverance of love work a miracle on my marriage---let love soften my husband’s heart, lift the veil from his eyes and bring him back to me in the bonds of the vows that we made to each other almost 20 years ago. I am asking in prayer and in faith for my marriage to be saved and restored in love. I ask for this in the name of Jesus.

Dear Jesus, you see many men's hearts turn away from home and this breaks your heart. You commend that "what God has joined together, let man not separate." Jesus shows that the reason why Moses' law allowed divorce, was such that they ought not to use the permission; it was only for the hardness of their hearts. God himself joined husband and wife together; he has fitted them to be comforts and helps for each other. The bond which God has tied, is not to be lightly untied. Let those who are for putting away their wives consider what would become of themselves, if God should deal with them in like manner. (Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary). I pray for this sister that Lord you comfort her, provide for her, give her peace and strength that she puts complete trust in you and you only. I pray in Jesus Christ's holy name, amen! In you she has forever hope!!!
