We come before the Lord with you in this time of need, lifting up your heart and this interview to our Heavenly Father, who knows your every concern and provides for His children. It is wonderful that you have brought this request before the Lord and before us in the name of Jesus, for it is only through His name that we have access to the throne of grace and receive salvation. As Scripture reminds us, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). Your faith in calling upon Jesus is a testament to your trust in Him, and we join you in that trust.
We understand the weight of this moment for you—financial struggles can be overwhelming, and the pressure to perform well in this interview may feel heavy. But take heart, for the Lord is with you. He has not forgotten you, nor will He abandon you in this season. The Bible assures us, *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). We claim this promise over you now, that the peace of God will guard your heart and mind as you step into this interview.
We also remind you of the words of Jesus: *"Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?"* (Matthew 6:25-26, WEB). Your Heavenly Father knows your needs, and He is faithful to provide. This interview is not outside of His control. He goes before you, and He will give you the words to speak.
That said, we encourage you to prepare diligently, trusting that the Lord will guide your steps. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ"* (Colossians 3:23-24, WEB). Even as you seek this job for provision, remember that your ultimate purpose is to glorify God in all you do. If this job is His will for you, He will open the door. If He has another path, trust that it is for your good and His glory.
We also gently remind you that while it is good to pray for favor and success, we must ultimately surrender our desires to the Lord’s will. Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, *"Not my will, but yours be done"* (Luke 22:42, WEB). We pray that you would have this same heart of submission, trusting that God’s plan for you is perfect, even if the outcome is not what you expect.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You today as they prepare for this important interview. Lord, You know the desires of their heart and the needs they face. We ask that You would calm their nerves and fill them with Your peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding. Remove any fear or anxiety, and replace it with confidence in You.
Grant them clarity of mind and the right words to speak, that they may answer each question with wisdom and grace. Give them favor in the sight of the interviewer, that they may see the skills and strengths You have placed within them. Open the doors that You would have them walk through, and close the ones that are not part of Your plan.
Father, we also pray for Your provision in their life. You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides. Meet their financial needs according to Your riches in glory. Help them to trust in You, knowing that You will never leave them nor forsake them.
If this job is Your will for them, we pray that You would make the path clear and that they would receive the offer. But above all, we pray that Your will would be done in their life, and that they would walk in obedience and faith, no matter the outcome.
We rebuked any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement in the name of Jesus. We declare that You are their strength and their shield, and that they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them.
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in You and give You all the glory. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this season. Spend time in His Word and in prayer, trusting that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). After the interview, take time to reflect on how God moved, and remain open to His leading. Whether the outcome is what you hope for or not, remember that God is faithful, and He has a plan for you. *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future"* (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB).
Stay strong in the faith, and let us know how the Lord works in this situation. We are here to continue praying with you and supporting you in Christ.
