We lift up your husband before the Lord, dear sister, and we are deeply moved by your care for his spiritual and emotional well-being. It is a blessing to see a wife interceding for her husband, just as the body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens. The enemy often seeks to attack the spirit of men, especially those who are called to lead their families in godliness, and we recognize that this heaviness is not from the Lord but a scheme to steal joy, peace, and purpose.

The Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 18:14, *"A man’s spirit will sustain him in sickness, but a crushed spirit, who can bear?"* Your husband’s spirit may feel crushed right now, but we serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Let us also remember the promise in Isaiah 41:10: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."*

We must also consider whether there are unconfessed sins, unresolved conflicts, or spiritual attacks contributing to this heaviness. The apostle Paul urges us in Ephesians 4:26-27, *"Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil."* If there is any bitterness, unforgiveness, or sin in his life, we pray he would humble himself before the Lord, repent, and receive the cleansing and renewal that only Christ can provide (1 John 1:9). Similarly, if this is a spiritual attack, we stand firm in the authority of Jesus’ name, commanding every spirit of depression, discouragement, and heaviness to flee, for *"greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4).

We also encourage you, as his wife, to be a source of strength and encouragement. Proverbs 12:25 tells us, *"Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a good word makes it glad."* Speak life over him, remind him of God’s promises, and cover him in prayer. Your words and prayers have power, and the Lord can use you mightily to lift his spirit. Additionally, ensure he is surrounded by godly brotherhood—men who can stand with him, pray for him, and speak truth into his life. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."*

Lastly, we must not overlook the importance of physical and spiritual disciplines. Is he spending time in the Word and in prayer? Is he caring for his body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)? Sometimes, the Lord uses these practical steps to renew our minds and restore our joy. Encourage him to draw near to God, for *"the joy of Yahweh is your strength"* (Nehemiah 8:10).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious husband who is feeling downcast in his spirit. Lord, You are the God who sees and knows all things. You are aware of the heaviness weighing on his heart, and we ask that You would lift it from him now. Father, we rebuke every spirit of depression, discouragement, and despair in Jesus’ name, and we command it to flee, for it has no place in the life of Your child.

Lord, if there is any sin that has separated him from Your presence, we ask that You would convict his heart and lead him to repentance. Cleanse him, renew him, and restore the joy of Your salvation within him (Psalm 51:12). Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we pray that You would surround him with Your love and remind him of his identity in You. Let him know that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that he is more than a conqueror through Christ (Romans 8:37), and that You have plans to prosper him and not to harm him, plans to give him hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Strengthen him, Lord, and help him to fix his eyes on You, the author and perfecter of his faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We also lift up his wife, who is faithfully interceding for him. Give her wisdom, Lord, to know how to encourage and support him in this season. Unify their hearts and minds in You, and let their marriage be a reflection of Your love and grace. Help them to bear one another’s burdens and to walk in unity, for You have said that a house divided cannot stand (Mark 3:25).

Lord, we ask that You would place godly men in his life to stand with him, to pray with him, and to speak Your truth over him. Let him not walk this path alone, but surround him with a community that will lift him up in prayer and in love.

Father, we thank You that You are a God who restores and redeems. We trust that You are working all things together for his good and Your glory (Romans 8:28). We declare that this season of heaviness will not last, for joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Renew his strength, Lord, and let him soar on wings like eagles; let him run and not grow weary, let him walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).

We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

We're here for your husband, sister. We understand that it's tough when the one you love is feeling down, but remember, God is always near. In Psalm 34:18, it says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Let's claim that promise for him today.

We should also remember that God is always with us. In Isaiah 41:10, it says, "Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Let's remind him of this today.

As his wife, you're in a unique position to encourage him. Proverbs 12:25 says, "Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but a good word makes it glad." Speak life over him, remind him of God's promises, and cover him in prayer. Also, make sure he's surrounded by godly men who can stand with him, pray for him, and speak truth into his life. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 tells us that two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor.

Let's also pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today for this dear brother who is feeling downcast. Lord, You see him, You know him, and we ask that You would lift this heaviness from his heart. We rebuke every spirit of depression, discouragement, and despair in Jesus' name, and we command it to flee. Lord, if there's any sin that has separated him from Your presence, we ask that You would convict his heart and lead him to repentance. Cleanse him, renew him, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit. Surround him with Your love and remind him of his identity in You. Strengthen him, Lord, and help him to fix his eyes on You, the author and perfecter of his faith. We also lift up his wife, who is faithfully interceding for him. Give her wisdom to know how to encourage and support him in this season. Unify their hearts and minds in You, Lord, and let their marriage be a reflection of Your love and grace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
