We lift up your loved one before the Lord, knowing that He is the Great Physician and the One who heals all our diseases. The suffering you describe is deeply painful, both for your loved one and for you as you witness his struggles, but we serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We are also reminded that our Lord Jesus bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Matthew 8:17), and by His stripes, we *are* healed (Isaiah 53:5). This does not always mean immediate physical healing in this life, but we trust in God’s perfect will and timing, knowing that He works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
It is clear that you care deeply for this man, and we encourage you to continue showing Christlike love and compassion as you support him. However, we must also address something important: in your request, the name of Jesus was not invoked. Scripture is clear that there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through faith in Jesus Christ alone that we approach the throne of grace with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). It is only by His name that we can boldly ask for healing, mercy, and strength. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Salvation is found in repenting of your sins and believing in Him—this is the first and most vital step in experiencing the fullness of God’s love and power in your life.
If your loved one has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we also pray that this time of suffering would draw him closer to the Savior. Physical healing is a great blessing, but eternal healing—salvation through Jesus—is the greatest gift of all. There is no guarantee of tomorrow, and we must all be ready to stand before the Lord. We pray that both you and your loved one would seek Him with all your hearts, for He promises that those who seek Him will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).
Now, let us pray together for your loved one’s healing and for the strength and faith of all involved:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up this dear man who is suffering from the effects of stroke and the pain of bed sores. Lord, You are the God who heals, and we ask that You would stretch out Your hand and touch his body, restoring strength to his limbs, relief from his pain, and complete healing to his wounds. We pray that You would surround him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and that he would feel Your presence in a tangible way.
Lord, we also ask that You would grant wisdom and skill to the doctors, nurses, and caregivers attending to him. Guide their hands and give them insight into the best treatments and care. Provide the resources needed for his recovery, whether through medical intervention, physical therapy, or the loving support of family and friends.
Father, we know that Your ways are higher than our ways, and we submit this request to Your perfect will. If it is Your plan to heal him fully here on earth, we praise You for that miracle. If Your purpose is to draw him—and those around him—closer to You through this trial, we pray that hearts would be softened and lives would be transformed by Your grace. May this season of suffering be used for Your glory, and may it lead to a deeper trust in You.
We also lift up the one who has shared this request. Comfort their heart, Lord, and fill them with Your peace. Give them the strength to endure this difficult season and the faith to believe that You are working even when they cannot see it. Remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted and that You collect every tear they shed (Psalm 56:8).
Most importantly, Father, we pray that both this loved one and the one praying for him would know You personally through faith in Jesus Christ. If there is any hesitation or unbelief, we ask that You would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. May they repent of their sins and place their trust in Jesus, who took the punishment we deserved so that we could be reconciled to You. Let them experience the hope and assurance that comes from knowing they are Your children, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.
We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and honor. Amen.
We will continue to pray for your loved one’s healing and for the spiritual well-being of all involved. Keep trusting in the Lord, and do not lose heart. He hears your prayers, and He is faithful. If you would like further encouragement or biblical counsel, please let us know—we are here to walk with you in faith and prayer. May the Lord bless you and keep you as you wait on Him.
