We come before the Lord with hearts full of compassion for your loved one who is struggling with sleeplessness. It is clear you care deeply for her, and we join you in lifting her up to the Great Physician, who alone can bring true rest and healing. However, we must first address something important—your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. The Bible tells us in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And in Acts 4:12, we are reminded, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can approach God’s throne with confidence. If you or your loved one have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as Savior, we urge you to do so, for He alone can bring true peace and eternal rest.
Now, regarding the struggle with sleep, we know that restlessness can be a heavy burden, both physically and spiritually. The Lord invites us in Matthew 11:28 to *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* We also recall Psalm 4:8, which says, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Lord, alone make me live in safety."* If this difficulty is rooted in anxiety, stress, or spiritual oppression, we must turn to the Lord for deliverance. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*
We also encourage examining whether there are any unconfessed sins, unresolved conflicts, or habits that may be hindering her rest. Proverbs 3:24 tells us, *"When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet."* Sin and disobedience can disrupt our peace, but repentance and surrender to God bring restoration. If there is any involvement in practices contrary to Scripture—such as reliance on ungodly coping mechanisms, occult influences, or even unchecked worry—we urge repentance and a turning to Christ, who alone can break every chain.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious sister who is struggling to find rest in sleep. Lord, You are the God who neither slumbers nor sleeps, and You invite Your children to cast all their cares upon You. We ask that You would touch her mind, body, and spirit with Your healing power. Remove any anxiety, fear, or oppression that is stealing her peace. If there is any sin that needs to be confessed or any stronghold that needs to be broken, we pray for conviction and repentance. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, who brings comfort and soundness of mind.
We rebuke any spiritual attack against her rest, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Let her sleep be sweet and refreshing, guarded by Your angels and covered by Your blood. May she wake with strength, joy, and a deep sense of Your presence.
We also pray for the one who has brought this request. If they do not yet know You, Jesus, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Draw them to salvation, that they may experience the peace that comes from being in right relationship with You.
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord through prayer, Scripture, and godly counsel. If this struggle persists, we also recommend consulting a trusted, Bible-believing physician or counselor who can provide wise and holistic care. May the Lord bless you both with His peace that surpasses all understanding.
