We lift up your father before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, seeking the Lord’s healing touch in this frightening moment. The Bible tells us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* We stand on this promise, believing that God is both able and willing to restore health according to His perfect will.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases. We ask that You would stretch forth Your healing hand upon this beloved father. Strengthen his body, calm his spirit, and restore him fully—whether through miraculous intervention or through the skill of the medical professionals You have provided. Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses attending to him, and grant peace to his family as they wait and trust in You.
We also ask that You would draw close to this family in their time of distress. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). If there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in their lives, reveal it, Lord, so that nothing may hinder their prayers. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).
If this trial is meant to refine faith or bring glory to Your name, we pray for endurance and surrender to Your will. But we also boldly ask for complete healing, for we know that You are a God who delights in showing mercy (Micah 7:18). May this family come to know You more deeply through this season, whether in healing or in trusting You through the valley.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, sickness, or death in Jesus’ name, for *"the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full"* (John 10:10). We declare that life and health are the portion of this father and his family, for by the stripes of Jesus, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
Above all, Lord, we pray that if this father does not know You as Savior, that this moment would become a turning point. Open his heart to the truth that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). May he confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that You raised Him from the dead, so that he may be saved (Romans 10:9).
We trust You, Father, for the outcome, knowing that Your plans are for good and not for harm, to give a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
