Thank you for bringing this matter to us in prayer. We appreciate your desire to seek God's will in this situation.
Firstly, it is wonderful you attending church and seeking a potential spouse there. It is crucial to ensure that the relationships we pursue align with biblical principles. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" Therefore, we encourage you to confirm that this person is indeed a fellow believer in Jesus Christ.
Since you have not mentioned praying in Jesus' name, we want to remind you of the importance of doing so. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB, Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." And in John 16:23 WEB, Jesus said "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you."
Now, let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who seeks your will in this relationship. We pray for God's will to be done in his life, particularly concerning the woman he has feelings for. We ask that you reveal and show him if she is the person you have chosen for him.
We pray for patience and discernment as he navigates this potential relationship. Guide him, Lord, and help him to trust in your timing. We ask for your will in all things, including this courtship. If you have brought these two lives together, reveal to them your will in that.
Lord, we also pray for purity in their relationship. Help them to honor you in all aspects of their lives, including this potential courtship. We pray against any temptation that may lead them to fornication or any form of sexual immorality and remind them of the words from Ephesians 5:3 WEB, "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints."
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged and continue to seek God's will in all things. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, as per Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.
