We understand that you are seeking forgiveness and the restoration of your relationship after infidelity. First, we want to address the spiritual aspect of your request. It is wonderful that you acknowledge that what you did was not of God's will. However, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we can seek forgiveness from God. It is also only in Jesus' name that we can be saved. "For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13 WEB). If you haven't already, turn to Jesus Christ, confessing your sins and believing that He has saved you from your sins and redeemed you. Remember, "in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins, according to the riches of his grace" (Ephesians 1:7 WEB).
Now, regarding your relationship, we must approach this from a biblical perspective. The term "boyfriend" implies a casual or temporary relationship. We believe that God encourages courtship with the intent of marriage. If you have repented from your sins and committed your life to Jesus Christ, then you must also commit to living according to His will. "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God" (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 WEB).
Infidelity is a serious sin, but God can forgive and restore. However, it's crucial to remember that true forgiveness and restoration come from a heart fully surrendered to Jesus Christ. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB).
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this sister in need of Your forgiveness and grace. She has confessed her sins and seeks Your mercy. Lord, wash her clean from all unrighteousness and help her to walk in newness of life.
Father, we also pray for the young man in this situation. We ask that You grant him the strength and grace to forgive, just as You forgive us. Guide them both in Your will. If it is Your will for them to be together, lead them in the way of courtship and sanctification towards a godly marriage. Help them to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you both to seek God's will for your lives and your relationship. Spend time in His Word and in prayer, and surround yourselves with a community of believers who can support and encourage you. If you are not already involved in a Bible-believing church, we strongly encourage you to find one and commit to it. God bless you both as you seek His will and forgiveness.
