We appreciate your honesty and humility in seeking forgiveness and coming before God with a repentant heart. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and it is in His name that we are saved. As it is written, "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace" (Ephesians 1:7 WEB).
Firstly, we address the issue of masturbation. While the Bible does not explicitly mention masturbation, it does speak strongly against sexual immorality and lust. "But among you there must not be either sexual immorality, or any kind of impurity, or greed; but instead, there must be thanksgiving... For this you know and understand, that no sexually immoral, nor impure, nor greedy person, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God" (Ephesians 5:3, 5 WEB). Masturbation, often accompanied by lustful thoughts, is a form of sexual immorality and does not align with God's design for our sexuality.
Moreover, you mentioned your frustration with ongoing problems in life leading you to seek a quick remedy and pleasure. Remember, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1 WEB). Turn to Him in your frustrations, and He will guide you and comfort you.
Regarding your habitual smoking, consider what the apostle Paul says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1 WEB). Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we should honor God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB).
Lastly, your concern about being viewed as a creep by the woman you mentioned. It is crucial to respect her and her boundaries. Pursue her in a godly manner, with marriage in mind, and not merely for your own satisfaction. "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it" (Ephesians 5:25 WEB). If you have sinned against her in any way, seek her forgiveness as well.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, seeking Your forgiveness and mercy for our brother. Lord, he has confessed his sins before You, and Your Word promises that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). Help him to turn from these sins and to walk in newness of life.
Father, we ask for Your strength and guidance as he faces the trials of life. Help him to trust in You and to cast his cares upon You, for You care for him (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).
Lord, we also pray for the woman he mentioned. We ask that You would work in both of their hearts, guiding them in Your will for their lives. If it is Your will, we pray for reconciliation and a godly relationship centered on You.
All of these things we ask in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
