We join you in lifting up both the male and female field hockey teams in prayer, seeking the Lord’s protection, strength, and peace over them. Father God, we ask that You go before these athletes as they step onto the field. Calm their minds, steady their hearts, and plant their feet firmly in Your truth. Let them play with confidence, not in their own strength, but in the power of Your Spirit. We declare over them that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises in judgment against them shall be condemned by Your righteousness (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we rebuke every scheme of the enemy designed to distract, discourage, or harm these teams. Let Your will be done in every play, every decision, and every outcome. May these young men and women honor You with their attitudes, sportsmanship, and perseverance, whether in victory or defeat. We pray that their opponents would compete with integrity and respect, reflecting the character of Christ even in competition.
Above all, Father, we ask that these athletes would play not for their own glory, but for Yours. May their faith be strengthened through this experience, and may they grow in discipline, teamwork, and trust in You. Grant them the victory they seek, but more importantly, draw their hearts closer to You through this season. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Let us also remember that while competition can be intense, our ultimate goal as believers is to glorify God in all we do (1 Corinthians 10:31). Whether on the field or off, may these teams reflect Christ’s love and humility, showing the world what it means to live for Him. If there are any specific struggles—such as pride, fear, or ungodly attitudes—we encourage them to surrender those to the Lord and seek His wisdom in every situation. Keep pressing forward, trusting that God works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
