Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my father, he had cancer ### ago and he was healed by God's grace, he is still on medication, doc has asked us to do a PET scan next month but recently I have seen him doing some other religion thing like wearing certain stones and reading other religion things but he still goes to church regularly, reading the Bible daily, has so much knowledge still he is doing this, please pray to God to remove his disbelief, please pray that he only trusts Jesus and no other thing.

We lift up your father before the Lord with hearts full of gratitude for the healing he has already received by God’s grace, and we stand in faith for his continued health and spiritual wholeness. It is a testimony to God’s power that your father was healed from cancer, and we praise Him for sustaining him through medication and the care of doctors. Yet, we are deeply concerned by the signs of spiritual compromise you’ve observed—wearing stones and engaging with practices tied to other religions—even as he remains active in church and the Word. This is a serious matter, for the Lord commands us in **Deuteronomy 18:9-12 (WEB):**
*"When you have come into the land which Yahweh your God gives you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, one who interprets omens, one who is a sorcerer, one who casts spells, one who consults a familiar spirit, one who is a wizard, or one who calls on the dead. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh. Because of these abominations, Yahweh your God drives them out from before you."*

Your father’s actions, though they may seem harmless or even "supplemental" to his faith, are dangerous distortions of trust in God alone. The apostle Paul warns in **2 Corinthians 6:14-16 (WEB):**
*"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness? What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever? What agreement has a temple of God with idols? For you are a temple of the living God. Even as God said, ‘I will dwell in them and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people.’"*

Your father cannot serve two masters—either he trusts fully in Christ, or he is divided in his loyalty. The stones, rituals, or "other religion things" he is engaging with are not neutral; they are idolatry, and idolatry is rebellion against God. His knowledge of Scripture makes this even more grievous, for **James 4:17 (WEB)** tells us, *"To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn’t do it, to him it is sin."* He knows better, yet he is flirting with spiritual deception. This is not a lack of knowledge but a lack of surrender.

We also notice that your prayer request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to the Father. **Acts 4:12 (WEB)** declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* And **John 14:6 (WEB)** leaves no room for ambiguity: *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* Every prayer must be rooted in the authority of Jesus’ name, for apart from Him, we have no standing before God. We urge you to always pray in Jesus’ name, for it is by His blood and His righteousness alone that we approach the throne of grace.

Now, let us pray together for your father:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the healing You have already wrought in our brother’s father, for You alone are the God who heals and sustains. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and intervention in his life, not only for his physical health but for the purity of his faith. Father, we rebuke every spirit of idolatry, superstition, and unbelief that has taken root in his heart. Break the chains of deception that have led him to trust in stones, rituals, or any other created thing rather than in You, the Creator of all things. **Psalm 115:4-8 (WEB)** warns us that idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands—they have mouths but cannot speak, eyes but cannot see, ears but cannot hear. Lord, open his eyes to see the futility of these things and the supremacy of Christ!

We pray that You would convict him deeply by Your Holy Spirit, that he would repent of these compromises and return to You with his whole heart. Remind him, Lord, that **1 John 5:21 (WEB)** commands, *"Little children, keep yourselves from idols."* Let him remember that You are a jealous God, and You will not share Your glory with another. Stir in him a holy fear of You, that he may turn away from these things and cling only to the cross of Christ.

Father, we ask for Your protection over his mind and spirit. Guard him from the lies of the enemy, who seeks to distort his faith and lead him astray. Fill him with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that he may walk worthily of You, Lord, fully pleasing You (Colossians 1:9-10). Let his trust be in You alone, for **Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB)** tells us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*

We pray for his upcoming PET scan, Lord. Let the results bring glory to Your name, whether in continued healing or in the strength to endure whatever may come. Let this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness, not only in his body but in his soul. Surround him with believers who will speak truth into his life and hold him accountable in love.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would use this trial to draw your servant closer to You. Let him experience the peace that surpasses all understanding as he casts all his anxieties on You (Philippians 4:6-7). May he find his hope, his healing, and his identity in Christ alone.

We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

To you who have brought this request before us: stand firm in your faith and continue to pray boldly for your father. Do not be afraid to lovingly confront him about these practices, speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). Remind him of the Gospel—that salvation is found in Christ alone, and that our trust must be in Him alone. Encourage him to cast aside every weight and sin that so easily entangles (Hebrews 12:1) and to fix his eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

Be his ally in prayer, but also be his brother or sister in Christ who refuses to ignore the danger of idolatry. The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the work He has begun in your father (Philippians 1:6). Trust in Him, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). We are standing with you in this battle for his soul and his health. The Lord hears your cries, and He will act.

Dear friend,

We've been praying for your father, and we wanted to share some more words of encouragement and prayer with you.

Firstly, we're so grateful for the healing your father has already experienced. It's a testament to God's power and grace. We believe that God is not done with him yet, and we stand in faith for his continued health and spiritual wholeness.

We understand your concern about the other religious practices he's been engaging in. It's important to remember that God desires our undivided worship and loyalty. In Deuteronomy 6:13, He commands, "You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve." Anything that takes our focus away from Jesus is a form of idolatry, and it can lead us astray.

We encourage you to continue to pray for your father, but also to have those tough conversations with him. Share your concerns with him, but do so in love (Ephesians 4:15). Remind him of the truth of the Gospel - that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and that our trust must be in Him alone.

Here's a prayer we'd like to share with you:

"Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus. We thank You for the healing You've already done in our brother's father. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and intervention in his life. Break the chains of deception that have led him to trust in stones, rituals, or any other created thing rather than in You, the Creator of all things.

Convict him deeply by Your Holy Spirit, that he would repent of these compromises and return to You with his whole heart. Stir in him a holy fear of You, that he may turn away from these things and cling only to the cross of Christ.

Guard him from the lies of the enemy, who seeks to distort his faith and lead him astray. Fill him with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that he may walk worthily of You, Lord, fully pleasing You.

We pray for his upcoming PET scan, Lord. Let the results bring glory to Your name, whether in continued healing or in the strength to endure whatever may come. Surround him with believers who will speak truth into his life and hold him accountable in love.

We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen."

Keep standing in faith for your father. The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the work He has begun in him (Philippians 1:6). Trust in Him, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). We're standing with you in this battle for his soul and his health. The Lord hears your cries, and He will act.

In Jesus' name, we pray.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
