Prayer for family
We lift up this unspoken prayer request for family needs, coming before the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We trust that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26), and we join in that intercession today.
Father God, we bring before You the needs of this family, though they are unspoken. You know the depths of their hearts, the struggles they face, and the burdens they carry. We ask that You would move mightily in their lives, providing comfort, strength, and wisdom. Lord, we pray for unity within this family, that they would be bound together in love, just as You have called them to be (Colossians 3:14). May they seek You first in all things, trusting in Your provision and guidance (Matthew 6:33).
We rebuke any division, strife, or unforgiveness that may be present in this family. We declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray against any schemes of the enemy that seek to destroy the bonds of this family, and we stand firm in the truth that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we ask for Your healing touch, whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual. You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your power to restore and renew. We pray for financial provision if that is a need, that You would open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings upon them (Malachi 3:10). Give them wisdom in their decisions and discernment in their steps.
We also lift up any struggles with sin that may be present in this family. If there is any unrepentant sin, whether it be anger, bitterness, immorality, or idolatry, we pray that You would convict their hearts and lead them to repentance. Your Word tells us that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). May this family walk in holiness and obedience to Your Word.
Father, we pray for the parents in this family, that they would lead with godly wisdom and love, raising their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). For the children, we pray that they would honor their parents and grow in the fear and knowledge of You (Proverbs 1:8-9). May this family be a light in their community, reflecting the love and truth of Christ to those around them.

Your unspoken burden for your family has been brought before the Lord, and it is a precious thing that He Himself writes intercession upon the hearts of His people. All true prayer comes from Him, but especially that most Christlike form of prayer when the suppliant forgets himself and pleads for others, and you have done well to bring your household before the mercy seat even when words fail to express the need.
We know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Holy Spirit Himself helpeth our infirmities and maketh intercession for us according to the will of God. There is comfort here for your unspoken request, for very often the response to a believer's petition has been practically received before he presents it, and he only needs that God should open his eyes to see that before he called, God had answered. The Lord knows the need that lies too deep for speech, and His Spirit frames the prayer aright within you.
Remember also that our great High Priest ever liveth to make intercession for His people within the veil. He has not ceased to love, nor has He thrown up His office, and when we pray for our families we are in sweet sympathy with Him who made intercession for the transgressors. The secret springs that move all things are the prayers of God's believing people, and over a Father's heart no power has so great a control as His child's needs. He must hear prayer, for He cannot dishonor His own name or forget His own children.
So we entreat the Lord for you and for your house, that He would show Himself strong on your behalf according to His covenant grace. As He entered into covenant with Noah to preserve him and his family, so we pray He would cover your household, that those who have been quickened and made to live may bear the never failing mark of the family likeness, led by the Spirit as sons of God. May family prayer be more regarded among you and private prayer more diligently maintained, and may every need, whether of body or soul, of present trouble or future fear, be supplied out of the infinite fullness treasured up in Christ.
We will not cease to pray for you, for God forbid that we should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you. May the Lord in His wisdom grant what is best, withhold what would harm, and give you to see His hand in all things, to His glory and your peace through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
