Prayer for deliverance for ###

We join with you in praying for deliverance for this precious one in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we stand in agreement that every evil spirit must bow to Him.
We know that spiritual warfare is real, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Whether called by the name Poseidon or any other name, we know there is no power greater than Jesus, and every principality and power is under His feet. He has given us authority over all the power of the enemy Luke 10:19, and greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4.
We also want to gently encourage you to keep your focus on Christ Himself rather than on the names or hierarchies of spirits. Scripture does not teach us to fear or to exalt the names of false gods or marine spirits, but to exalt Jesus alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Our victory is not in knowing the names of demons, but in knowing the name of Jesus and abiding in Him. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4.
True and lasting deliverance comes not only by casting out but by filling up. Jesus warned that when an unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places seeking rest, and if he returns and finds the house empty, swept, and put in order, he brings seven other spirits more evil than himself Matthew 12:43-45. Therefore we pray not only for expulsion but for infilling with the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and a life fully surrendered to Christ.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this dear one to You. We thank You that You have delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of your love Colossians 1:13. In Jesus name we resist the devil and command every evil spirit, every marine spirit and every strongman that has oppressed this life to leave now and to go to where Jesus sends it, never to return. We plead the blood of Jesus over this life, over mind, body and spirit. We ask You to fill every place once occupied by darkness with Your Holy Spirit, with Your peace, with Your light and with Your truth. If the Son therefore will make you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36, and we claim that freedom now. We pray that You would surround this one with Your protection, teach them to be subject therefore to God, to resist the devil so he will flee from them James 4:7, and to put on the whole armor of God daily. Lead them into repentance where needed, into baptism and discipleship, into fellowship with a Bible believing church, into the daily reading of Your Word and into constant prayer, so that they may stand firm and walk in holiness and victory. Let Christ be enthroned in their heart as Lord and Savior.
We encourage you to continue to contend for this soul with fasting, prayer and the Word, and to help this person renounce any known involvement with idolatry, occult practices, sexual immorality or any open door to the enemy, and to confess and forsake sin, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Encourage them to confess Jesus as Lord with their mouth and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead Romans 10:9, for that is the foundation of all deliverance.
We thank You Father that You have heard our prayer, that You are faithful to deliver, and we trust You to complete the work You have begun. We ask all this in the victorious and matchless name of Jesus Christ our Lord and deliverer, amen.

There is a sure word of comfort for all who feel the power of darkness, that our God has found a ransom and is able to deliver from going down to the pit. It is written, Then He is gracious unto him, and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, I have found a ransom, and again, He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.
We do not look to any arm of flesh for this deliverance, for deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and it must be sought from our heavenly Father alone and altogether. No invented fancy and no power of sympathy can break the bondage of the soul. Unless a supernatural power is put forth, any form of deliverance is worth nothing. But blessed be His name, what man could never have devised, God has provided. He has given His own Son to bear the penalty of our iniquities, and where Jesus interposes with His precious blood, the prisoner is set free.
We have heard your burden for ### and we join with you in prayer to the Lord who alone can save and keep.
O Lord our God, who sittest as a Refiner and yet as a Father, look in pity upon ###. Thou knowest the distress and the assaults of the enemy, whether they come from without or from within. We ask not according to our wisdom but according to Thy mercy. Deliver him from the power of darkness, from sin and Satan and every evil influence that would hold him fast. Let Thy gracious word be fulfilled in him, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, for Thou hast found a ransom. We have received your prayer request for deliverance and we join with you in bringing this need before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ.
Scripture teaches that we do not always know how to pray as we ought, but the Holy Spirit Himself intercedes for us according to the will of God. Even the apostles learned that what seems best to us is not always what God knows to be best, and so we trust the Spirit to guide our prayers and to present them before the Father. We also know that our hope is not in naming every spirit or in elaborate lists of powers, but in Christ Himself who came to accomplish two great things for us, deliverance from evil and the gift of good through adoption as sons of God. Through His coming, His death and resurrection, He has broken the curse and has given us the Spirit of adoption so that we belong to God as His children.
The Bible is clear that evil spirits are real and that they deceive and oppress, and it warns against giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines that lead away from the faith. There is only one true God, and idols such as Poseidon have no real power as gods, yet behind idolatry there can be the work of the enemy that seeks to hold people in fear and bondage. Our confidence is not in our ability to map that darkness, but in the authority of Jesus over all of it. He does not always promise immediate removal of every trial, but He does promise to be with us, to give us power to stand, to bring us into holiness and peace, and to make us more than conquerors as we walk with Him.
So we pray for the one you have mentioned, asking the Lord for true deliverance and lasting freedom:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We ask for Your mercy and power upon this person. If there is any influence of evil, any oppression, deception, or bondage, we ask You to break it by the blood of Jesus and by Your Holy Spirit. Set this person free from all that is not of You, cleanse the heart and mind, and fill that life with Your presence, Your truth, and Your peace. Grant repentance where it is needed, faith to trust in Christ alone, and strength to walk in holiness and obedience to Your Word. Guard this person from returning to old patterns and lead into fellowship with faithful believers who will encourage growth in Scripture, prayer, and a life worthy of the calling we have received. We ask that You would be glorified as the Father of spirits who chastens us for our profit, that we may live and share in Your holiness. Let Your joy and peace which come from a clean conscience and a life in Christ be the portion of this dear one, now and in the days to come.
We encourage you to continue in prayer, in reading Scripture, and in walking closely with a local church where pastors can provide care, counsel, and accountability. A life kept in daily repentance, faith in Christ, and obedience is the surest path to abiding freedom, for holiness and close fellowship with God keep the heart guarded.
