Hello everyone, I hope everyone is doing well and the name of Jesus thank you.
I need a prayer there is an upcoming court date on July 2nd about our housing eviction case again, but our lawyer said that it’s not mandatory for us to attend; she will attend for us. This is the last court date and we will now have to start paying our rent share we owe about ### in rent. Our lawyer is going to see if we can get a deduction in the rent debt so it won’t be ### but it will be ###, but she would need to speak to the landlord’s lawyer so hopefully they approve. Also, our lawyer will be helping us apply for a one shot deal to help us pay the housing rent debt. The first time when I applied for the one shot deal, which was last year, we did not get approved because when applying for one shot deal, you need at least one month rent receipt to show us proof that you can pay for the rent after you get approved for the one shot deal, but we did not have the one month rent payment receipt. So hopefully this time we are able to get that and hopefully this time will be able to get approved for the one shot deal and they will help us pay for the rent debt and after that we can continue paying our rent the correct way and no shady business. The reason why my mother stopped paying rent is because when she would pay her rent, they would give her a receipt and then they would claim a couple of days later that they did not receive the rent money, so that is the reason why there was a pause to the rent paying. Hopefully, this time it won’t be like that. Also, there are many damages inside the apartment and our lawyer is trying to speak with the landlord’s lawyer to see if they can come and fix the damages. Hopefully, that is also possible. I just hope that this court goes well and that we get approved for the one deal and that our debt is clear and we can go back to continue paying our rent.
I also pray for ### and ### to find a nice two-bedroom apartment to move out. We recently got scammed out of ###. We applied for an apartment that we did not see the apartment, but the person said that the application fee was ###. We had a time and everything to go see the apartments and the day we were ready to go see the apartment the person completely ghosted us and took the ### and never texted back. I was really upset about that because we work hard for our money and this person just stole our money and yeah, so this apartment journey has been very hard in finding an apartment, but our voucher does expire on September 2, so if we don’t find an apartment by then I would have to request an extension in the middle of August so we can have more time.
### and I have been praying for her green card application to be approved so far she got her employment authorization card, her updated Social Security card, and the New York State ID. The only thing that she’s missing is the green card and hopefully that will come soon. ### is ### years old. She’s been living in the United States for about ### years or ### years, she has not gone back to her home country so she needs a break and also my biggest fear is to be evicted. I don’t want to be evicted. Honestly, ### has worked very hard to get where she is and she is also disabled. And she also works and I work as well, but I barely make any money. I am starting a new summer youth job next month. It’s only for July to August, but around mid-August I’m going to apply for another job with more hours so I can start helping ### pay rent since I’m done with college now.
I honestly don’t even want to think of the worst if we don’t get approved for the one shot deal and I pray to God and I know that we’re in good hands. I hope and I pray that that does not happen because if it does and we are totally over but let me think positive things, let me not worry, and we just pray to God.
