We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation that has weighed so deeply for over a year. First, we must address something foundational—this request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom all prayers must be offered to reach the Father. Scripture is clear: *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). Without calling upon Jesus, there is no access to God’s throne of grace. We urge you to repent of this oversight and always pray in the name of Jesus, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we plead with you to do so now, for *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB).
Now, turning to this burden, we recognize the spiritual warfare at play. The enemy has sought to bind this man in chains of addiction, mental torment, and destructive decisions. Yet we know that *"the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds"* (2 Corinthians 10:4, WEB). The devil *must* flee—but only in the name of Jesus, by the power of His blood. We declare that every lie the enemy has whispered—every accusation, every distortion of truth—is broken by the Word of God. *"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB).
We also must speak truth into the relationship dynamic here. If this is a romantic involvement outside of marriage, we rebuke any emotional or physical entanglement that is not holy before God. Scripture commands, *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body"* (1 Corinthians 6:18, WEB). If there is fornication, it must be repented of immediately, for *"the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body"* (1 Corinthians 6:13, WEB). A relationship built on anything less than Christ-centered purity cannot thrive. If marriage is not the godly intent, this bond must be severed, no matter how painful, for *"can two walk together, unless they are agreed?"* (Amos 3:3, WEB). Pray for wisdom: if this man is not a believer, *"don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). A spouse must be *"in the Lord"* (1 Corinthians 7:39, WEB).
As for his mental health and addictions, we cry out for divine intervention. *"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed"* (Luke 4:18, WEB). Lord, let Your healing power flood his mind! Restore his chemical balance, renew his thought patterns, and break the grip of every substance and stronghold. Give him supernatural motivation to seek work, to steward his resources wisely, and to walk in responsibility—not in impulsivity. *"Let the Redeemed of Yahweh say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary"* (Psalm 107:2, WEB).
We also pray for you, dear sister, that your heart would be guarded and your faith strengthened. *"Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Do not carry this burden alone—lean on the Body of Christ for support. If finances are a strain, trust that *"my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19, WEB). But be warned: if this man is not your husband, you are not responsible for his bills. Enablement can prolong bondage; wisdom must guide your actions.
**Our Prayer:**
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, breaking every chain of addiction, mental torment, and spiritual blindness over this man. Lord, rebuked the devil and his lies—let Your truth penetrate his heart! If he is not saved, convict him unto repentance. If this relationship is not holy, sever it for Your glory. Heal his mind, restore his will, and provide for his needs. Give wisdom to those treating him, and let no medication or treatment harm him further. We declare freedom, transformation, and a holy fire to consume every impurity. Let him rise as a man of God, walking in purpose. Strengthen [the requester] with Your peace, and let Your will—not emotions—guide every step. In Jesus’ powerful name, Amen!"*
Stand firm, sister. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep walking in obedience—no matter the cost.
