I'm reaching out with a heartfelt request for prayers on behalf of my family. We're navigating a few big things right now, and your prayers and support would mean the world to us.
First up, my wonderful husband is gearing up for his *third* attempt at the Class A permit test for commercial truck driving. He's been so close before, and passing this will unlock the hands-on training he needs to really get going. This job would make a significant difference for us, especially since he's only working part-time, and honestly, our savings are really feeling the strain. We're trusting in God's perfect timing, but please keep him in your prayers for a successful pass and for our financial stability.
Our amazing oldest daughter, who's in an adult special needs program, is just thriving. We're praying so hard for her continued growth, primarily as she works on those crucial independence skills – such as managing time, understanding money, budgeting, and improving her reading. She has such a determined spirit, and despite her diagnosis, the Lord is truly doing incredible things through her. Our greatest hope is to see her gain the confidence and skills necessary to secure a job and live as independently as possible.
My son is nearing the end of his junior year, and he's doing so incredibly well! We're so proud of his progress. He actually has enough credits to graduate early, but he's leaning towards staying with his graduating class, which means potentially taking on some college courses. Please pray that if he goes that route, it won't be too overwhelming. Also, he's diligently working with his therapist on coping strategies for anxiety, so continued strength and peace in that area would be wonderful.
And then there's our youngest daughter, whom I homeschool. She's been a little warrior academically, and we're celebrating some big wins after her recent IEP! She's really opening up and making fantastic strides in her fourth-grade work. Please pray for her continued academic progress, and also for me to be able to arrange some fun playdates for her. She's growing into such a sweet, confident young lady who deeply loves the Lord, and I pray that her heart continues to seek Him and that He can truly use her unique gifts.
More broadly, for all my children, my deepest prayer is that they always desire to walk closely with the Lord and seek His wisdom. They are genuinely kind, loving, and sweet souls, and my heart's desire is for no one to take advantage of them because of their diagnosis of autism and how autism could leave them vulnerable.
Finally, a little prayer for me too! Balancing homeschooling, working with adults with special needs, and navigating life's curveballs can be overwhelming. Please pray for me to trust God more and worry less about my children's futures. I also pray for wisdom and patience in homeschooling our youngest, to be the best wife I can be to my husband, and to be an encourager to everyone around me. Above all, I ask for strength in my faith – that my desire for the Lord and His Word grows stronger each day, and that I can continue to serve Him in my work with adults with special needs with diligence and compassion, always seeking His will. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for holding my family in your prayers. It truly means the world to us. I know that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is with us, and I know He hears our prayers. I believe that wholeheartedly and genuinely thank you for your prayers.
