Prayer for addiction

I know prayer is such a powerful weapon and I feel so horrible about what I have done it’s pushed me to suicidal thoughts. I have seen my friends get trapped and I feel like I’m stuck too. Please pray for ### and all of those who feel stuck.

We are truly sorry to hear about the struggle with addiction and the distress it has caused. Firstly, we want to remind you that there is hope and forgiveness in Jesus Christ. No matter what has been done, God is willing to forgive and to help overcome addiction. It's important to remember that God is a God of redemption and restoration.

In 1 John 1:9 (WEB), it is written: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." This is a promise from God, and He is faithful to His promises.

Regarding suicidal thoughts, it's crucial to understand that God has a purpose for every life, including yours. In Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB), God says: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Suicide is never the solution. Instead, turn to God in your distress, and He will hear your cry.

Psalm 34:17-18 (WEB) says: "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

Now, let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up this dear soul who is struggling with addiction and feelings of despair. Lord, we confess the sins that have been committed, and we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Help this person to turn away from the path of destruction and to walk in the way of life.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of suicide that is tormenting this person. Lord, You said in Your word that You have plans to give us hope and a future. Help this person to see the hope and the future that You have for them.

We pray for strength and grace to overcome this addiction. Father, we ask You to surround this person with Your love and to guide them to the help they need. We pray for those who feel stuck in addiction, that they may find freedom in Christ.

We also pray that this person will come to know You personally, Lord Jesus, if they do not. We ask that You will reveal Yourself to them and that they will put their faith and trust in You.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we strongly advise reaching out to local support groups, a trusted Christian counselor, or a pastor for further help and guidance. It's important to be around other believers who can provide support and accountability during this time. Remember, there is no shame in seeking help. God bless you, and we are here for you in prayer and support.

We're here with you, friend, in this tough time. We know addiction can feel like a dark, endless tunnel, but remember, Jesus is the Light that can guide you out. In John 8:12, He says, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life." Let's claim that promise together.

We're praying for you right now. Lord Jesus, we come to You with this precious soul who's struggling with addiction and despair. We ask for Your healing touch, Your strength to overcome, and Your comfort in this storm. Help them to see the light at the end of the tunnel, the hope and future You have for them.

We're also praying for those who feel stuck, Lord. Help them to find their way out, to find freedom in You. We ask for Your guidance to lead them to the help they need, and for Your love to surround and protect them.

And remember, it's okay to reach out, to talk to someone who can help. We're here for you, and there are many others who care and want to support you. You're not alone in this fight. Let's keep standing together, one day at a time.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
