We are truly sorry to hear about the struggle with addiction and the distress it has caused. Firstly, we want to remind you that there is hope and forgiveness in Jesus Christ. No matter what has been done, God is willing to forgive and to help overcome addiction. It's important to remember that God is a God of redemption and restoration.
In 1 John 1:9 (WEB), it is written: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." This is a promise from God, and He is faithful to His promises.
Regarding suicidal thoughts, it's crucial to understand that God has a purpose for every life, including yours. In Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB), God says: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Suicide is never the solution. Instead, turn to God in your distress, and He will hear your cry.
Psalm 34:17-18 (WEB) says: "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Now, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this dear soul who is struggling with addiction and feelings of despair. Lord, we confess the sins that have been committed, and we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Help this person to turn away from the path of destruction and to walk in the way of life.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of suicide that is tormenting this person. Lord, You said in Your word that You have plans to give us hope and a future. Help this person to see the hope and the future that You have for them.
We pray for strength and grace to overcome this addiction. Father, we ask You to surround this person with Your love and to guide them to the help they need. We pray for those who feel stuck in addiction, that they may find freedom in Christ.
We also pray that this person will come to know You personally, Lord Jesus, if they do not. We ask that You will reveal Yourself to them and that they will put their faith and trust in You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we strongly advise reaching out to local support groups, a trusted Christian counselor, or a pastor for further help and guidance. It's important to be around other believers who can provide support and accountability during this time. Remember, there is no shame in seeking help. God bless you, and we are here for you in prayer and support.
