We join you in praying for your daughter and her boyfriend, trusting in the powerful name of Jesus. We stand in agreement for them to have a godly relationship, resolving conflicts in a manner pleasing to the Lord. It is wonderful that you acknowledged that Jesus is the name above all names and that is the only way that we can approach God the Father.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this daughter and her boyfriend. We pray that their relationship will be centered on You, Lord, and that they will strive to honor You in all their interactions.
"Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good. In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate to one another; in honor preferring one another" Romans 12:9-10 WEB.
We pray they will hold each other accountable in a kind and loving way, not blaming or projecting, but instead, communicating openly and honestly.
"But speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ" Ephesians 4:15 WEB.
We rebuke any spirit of Jezebel or any controlling spirit that may try to influence their relationship. We pray that the boyfriend will love her as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it, and that he will stand up for her, even among his family members.
"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it" Ephesians 5:25.
We pray that they will be rooted and grounded in love, preferring one another and leaving selfish ways behind.
"Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud" 1 Corinthians 13:4.
When the enemy tries to sow division or bitterness, we pray that they will discern it and fight for what God has shown them about their relationship.
"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" 1 Peter 5:8 WEB.
We declare that they will have God's vision for their future, and that what the enemy means for evil, God will turn it for good.
"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives" Genesis 50:20 NIV.
We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ, who is the mediator between us and God. It is in Jesus that we live and move and have our being.
"for in him we live, and move, and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also his offspring'" Acts 17:28 WEB.
We encourage them both to continue seeking God's will for their relationship, ensuring that it aligns with biblical principles. We remind them that their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and they are called to be holy.
"Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness" Galatians 5:19 WEB.
We encourage them to take marriage seriously and consider their relationship to be a courtship.
