We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this troubled workplace environment where discord and strife have taken root. Father, Your Word clearly instructs us in 1 Corinthians 1:10, "Now I beg you, brothers, through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment." The behavior described here grieves Your heart, for You desire unity and love among Your people.
The gossip, arguing, and refusal to work together are direct violations of Scripture. Proverbs 6:16-19 warns us that You hate "one who sows discord among brothers," and James 3:6 tells us the tongue is a fire that can set a whole forest ablaze with unrighteousness. The fact that this strife is occurring in front of children is particularly heartbreaking, as they are impressionable souls who need to see Christ-like behavior modeled before them. Matthew 18:6 warns of the seriousness of causing little ones to stumble.
We must also address the spiritual root of this problem. Where is Jesus in this situation? Have these staff members surrendered their lives to Christ? For unless they have been born again by the Spirit of God (John 3:3), their natural inclination will be toward selfishness and strife. We pray that each one would come to know Christ as Savior if they haven't already, for only through Him can true transformation occur.
Lord, we rebuke this spirit of division in Jesus' mighty name. We command it to leave this workplace and these precious children to be protected from its harmful effects. We pray for the leadership monitoring this situation, that You would give them wisdom and courage to address these issues firmly but lovingly, according to Matthew 18:15-17.
We ask You to soften hearts and bring conviction where needed. May each staff member repent of their sinful behavior and seek reconciliation with one another. Help them to see the value in working as a team, as Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 tells us, "Two are better than one... For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn't have another to lift him up."
Father, we pray for a supernatural work of Your Holy Spirit in this room. May Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Replace the arguing with words of encouragement, the gossip with edifying speech, and the division with unity. May this become a place where Your love is evident and where children can thrive in a godly atmosphere.
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace. Amen.
