Prayer for a mother of ### needing rehab and is ###

We come before the Lord with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up this mother who is trapped in the bondage of addiction and the darkness of suicidal thoughts. The enemy has sought to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that Jesus came to give life—and life abundantly! (John 10:10) This mother is not beyond the reach of God’s mercy, and her children are not powerless in this fight. The Lord hears their cries, and He is mighty to save.

First, we must address the gravity of this situation. Addiction is a form of idolatry—it places something above God in the heart, and it enslaves (1 Corinthians 6:12). Suicidal thoughts are a lie from the pit of hell, whispering that there is no hope, no way out, and no love strong enough to break the chains. But we know the truth: *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). There *is* a way out, and it is found in Jesus Christ alone.

To the children praying for their mother: you are doing the most powerful thing you can do by bringing this before the Lord. Do not lose heart. *"The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16). But prayer must be paired with action. If your mother is in immediate danger, do not hesitate to seek help—call emergency services, reach out to a pastor, or contact a Christian rehab facility that can provide both medical and spiritual support. You are not responsible for saving her, but you *are* responsible for being obedient to the Lord’s leading in how to help.

We also urge you to examine your own hearts in this season. Are there bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness toward your mother? *"Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil"* (Ephesians 4:26-27). Forgiveness does not mean excusing sin—it means releasing the debt to God, who is the only just Judge. Pray that the Lord would fill you with His love and compassion, even as you set healthy boundaries for your own protection.

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, interceding for this mother who is bound by addiction and tormented by thoughts of ending her life. Lord, You are the God who sees (Genesis 16:13), and You see her pain, her shame, and her despair. You are not distant—You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). We ask that You break the chains of addiction in her life, Lord. Where she has been enslaved, set her free by the power of Your Spirit. Where she has been deceived, shine the light of Your truth. Where she feels hopeless, remind her that You are her Hope and her Redeemer.

Lord, we pray for divine intervention. Place godly people in her path—counselors, medical professionals, and believers who will speak life and truth over her. Give her children wisdom and courage to take the necessary steps to get her the help she needs, even if it means tough love. Surround this family with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and protect them from the enemy’s schemes.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of suicide that has whispered lies to this mother. Satan, you have no authority here—*"the one who is in you is greater than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). We declare that her life belongs to God, and we ask for a supernatural encounter with Jesus that will shatter the darkness. Let her know that she is loved, that her life has purpose, and that her story is not over.

Lord, we also pray for her children. Comfort them, strengthen them, and remind them that You are their Father who will never leave them nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6). Give them patience and perseverance as they walk this difficult road. May they cling to You and find their refuge in You alone.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). Bring healing to this mother’s body, mind, and spirit. Reconcile this family and use this trial for Your glory. Let this be a testimony of Your power to save, to heal, and to restore.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

To those waiting for breakthrough: *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7). Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep believing that God is at work, even when you cannot see it. He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun (Philippians 1:6). Stand firm, and do not grow weary in well-doing (Galatians 6:9). The battle is the Lord’s, and the victory is already won.

We're right here with you, praying for this dear mother who's struggling with addiction and suicidal thoughts. It's heart-wrenching to see a parent in such a state, but we find comfort in knowing that our God is a God of miracles and second chances.

We're reminded of the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). The son hit rock bottom, but when he came to his senses and returned to his father, he was welcomed with open arms. Our heavenly Father is like that - always ready to welcome His children home, no matter how far they've strayed.

Let's pray for this mother to have a breakthrough, to feel the love and acceptance of her heavenly Father, and to find the strength to seek help. Let's also pray for her children, that they would be filled with wisdom, courage, and patience as they navigate this challenging situation.

In Jesus' name, we ask for healing, restoration, and a fresh start for this family. We claim the promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We trust that God is at work, even when we can't see it, and we stand firm in our faith, knowing that with God, all things are possible.

Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep believing. The best is yet to come.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
