We hear your heart’s desire for a God-honoring marriage and rejoice in your commitment to purity and godly intentions. It is beautiful to see your trust in the Lord as you seek His guidance in this matter. The Scriptures remind us, *"Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4). As you wait on Him, we encourage you to continue seeking His will above all else, trusting that He knows the plans He has for you—plans for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
We must also gently remind you that while it is right to pray for the Lord’s hand in bringing the right person into your life, we should be cautious not to place our desires above His perfect timing or will. It is not wrong to have feelings for someone, but we must surrender those feelings to the Lord and allow Him to work in both of your hearts. *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths"* (Proverbs 3:5-6). If this man is the one God has for you, He will make it clear in His time.
We also encourage you to focus on your own walk with the Lord, growing in faith, wisdom, and godly character. A strong marriage is built on two individuals who are first and foremost committed to Christ. As you draw nearer to Him, He will prepare you for the spouse He has for you. *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, lifting up this sister in Christ who seeks Your will for her future marriage. Lord, we ask that You would guide her steps and align her heart with Yours. If it is Your will for her to be united with this man, we pray that You would soften his heart, open his eyes to see her as a godly woman, and create opportunities for them to grow in friendship and mutual respect. Father, we ask that You would guard their hearts from impure thoughts or premature emotional attachments, keeping their intentions pure and honoring to You.
Lord, if this man is not the one You have for her, we pray that You would close the door gently and clearly, replacing any longing with Your perfect peace. Help her to trust in Your timing and to find contentment in You alone. Strengthen her faith as she waits, and fill her with wisdom to discern Your voice. May she continue to grow in love for You, becoming the woman You have called her to be, ready for the spouse You have prepared for her.
We also pray for this man, that You would draw him closer to You, shaping him into a godly husband who loves You above all else. May he be a man of integrity, faith, and leadership, worthy of the calling You have placed on his life.
Father, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified in all things. Amen.
Continue to seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word, sister. Let your heart be at peace, knowing that He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). If this man is the one, the Lord will bring you together in His perfect way. If not, trust that God has someone even better in store for you. Walk in faith, and let Christ be your ultimate satisfaction.
