Your desire to be a wife in a lifelong covenant is a good and honorable desire, and God sees the longing of your heart. Marriage is His idea, a covenant He created for one man and one woman for life, and He intends it to be a place of faithfulness, love and purity.
Scripture teaches that to avoid sexual sin, each man is to have his own wife and each woman her own husband. Within that covenant, husband and wife belong to each other. Neither has authority over his or her own body alone, but each belongs to the other, and each is to show love and kindness to the other and not withhold themselves except by mutual agreement and only for a short time set aside for prayer. Living together or sharing sexual intimacy outside of that covenant does not honor God, even when there is affection. God calls His people to wait for and to keep those gifts inside marriage.
God also gives a simple pattern for how that covenant is to work. The husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it, caring for her as his own body. The wife is to respect and support her husband as she would the Lord. When a husband loves in that self giving way and a wife responds with willing respect, marriage can reflect something of heaven on earth. When either side strives for control without love or without respect, the home is torn apart.
You ask about a second husband. The Bible is clear and tender on this point. A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. If her husband has died, she is free to marry again, but only in the Lord, which means to a man who himself belongs to Jesus Christ and walks with Him. If a marriage has been broken while the husband is still living, the call of Scripture is to remain unmarried or to be reconciled. That is why it is so important to bring your history before the Lord honestly, to confess any sin, to receive His forgiveness through Jesus alone, and to seek wise, biblical counsel about where you stand before you pursue another marriage. Salvation and a right walk with God come only through faith in Jesus Christ, and only as He is at the center of your life can you love another person well.
If God does bring a believing husband into your life, that home can be a place of holiness and blessing. Scripture says that when even one partner believes, that faith brings a holy influence into the home that covers the children, though it does not automatically save an unbelieving spouse or child. An unbelieving husband or wife is often won not by argument but by seeing the quiet love and godly life of the believing partner.
So my prayer for you is not simply that God would send someone quickly, but that He would make you ready and guide you according to His Word. I pray that you will grow deeper in love for Jesus first, that you will find your completeness in Him, that He will guard you in purity and keep you from any relationship outside His design, and that if it is His will for you to marry, He will bring a faithful man who loves Christ, who will love you as Christ loves the church, whom you can respect and love in return, and with whom you can walk in a true covenant before Him. I pray He will give you discernment to marry only in the Lord and to build a home centered on Christ for as long as you both live.
