We join you in lifting up this need before the Lord, knowing that He is our Provider and the One who establishes our steps. Your situation is not hidden from Him, and He cares deeply about your need for a home—a place of stability, refuge, and rest for you and your family.
The Scripture reminds us in Matthew 7:7-8, *"Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened."* You have come before the Lord with a heart of faith, and we believe He hears you. We also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Your need for a home is known to Him, and we trust that as you seek His Kingdom first, He will provide according to His riches in glory.
At the same time, we encourage you to examine your hearts and ensure that this home aligns with God’s will for your lives. Proverbs 16:9 tells us, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."* If this home is part of His plan, He will open the doors no man can shut. If there are obstacles, we pray He would either remove them or redirect you to something even better—something that brings Him glory and serves His purposes for your family. We also encourage you to walk in wisdom and stewardship, ensuring that this commitment does not become a financial burden that distracts from your ability to serve Him freely or to be generous toward His work.
We are also mindful of your mention that you are currently homeless. This must be a season of great challenge, and we pray the Lord would surround you with His peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Even in this time of waiting, we pray He would provide temporary shelter, protection, and comfort. Remember that He is your dwelling place, as David declared in Psalm 90:1, *"Lord, you have been our dwelling place for all generations."* Though you may lack a physical home right now, you are never without His presence.
Now, let us pray together for your mortgage approval and for the Lord’s perfect will to be done in this situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today on behalf of our brother or sister who is seeking Your provision for a home. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and nothing is too difficult for You. We ask that You would move mightily in this situation, softening the hearts of those reviewing the mortgage application and removing any obstacles that stand in the way of approval. If this home is Your will for them, we pray that You would make the path straight and the process smooth, that Your name would be glorified through this provision.
Lord, we also ask that You would meet their immediate needs as they wait. Provide shelter, safety, and peace in this season of transition. Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are their refuge and strength. Give them wisdom to steward whatever You provide, whether it is this home or another opportunity You have prepared for them.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or doubt that may try to creep in during this waiting period. Fill them instead with Your peace and confidence in Your faithfulness. Remind them of Your promises, that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5), and that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory (Romans 8:28).
If there is any area in their lives that needs surrender or realignment with Your will, we pray You would reveal it to them. Help them to trust You completely, even if the answer looks different than they expect. Above all, may their hearts be fixed on You, seeking first Your Kingdom and righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to them as You see fit.
