We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your husband and the loneliness you've been experiencing. It's commendable that you remained faithful to him throughout your marriage and continue to honor his memory.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the comforting words of the Lord Jesus in John 14:18 WEB: "I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you." He is always with you, even in your feelings of loneliness.
As you consider the future, it's important to remember the principles laid out in Scripture regarding relationships. In 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, it is written, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" As you think of being a companion to someone, it is a type of yoke. It is important that you seek a spouse that is also a believer in Jesus Christ.
Additionally, we encourage you to trust in God's timing and plan for your life. Psalm 37:4 WEB says, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart." As you delight in God and commit your ways to Him, He will guide your paths and fulfill the desires of your heart in His perfect timing.
However, we noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we can approach God the Father and receive salvation. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, so that you may have eternal life and direct access to God.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is seeking a companion. We thank You for her faithfulness to her late husband and her desire to honor You in her life. We ask that You comfort her in her loneliness and guide her as she considers the future.
Help her to trust in Your timing and Your plan for her life. Give her the strength to wait on You and not settle for anything less than Your best. Prepare her heart for the companion and spouse You have for her. Let her find a man that also believes in Jesus Christ and can commit to a lifelong marriage. Help her to resist fornication and adultery. Guide her steps and bring her a godly spouse if that is Your will.
We also pray that she would come to know Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior if she hasn't already. Open her heart to receive Your free gift of salvation and eternal life.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the words of Psalm 73:25-26 WEB: "Whom do I have in heaven? There is none on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Trust in God, and He will guide your path.
