We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, standing firm in the authority of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Your request reveals a spiritual battle that is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). We take up the full armor of God, that we may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand (Ephesians 6:13).
First, we must address the name by which you pray. While you mention "Jesus’ name," we want to emphasize the power and exclusivity of the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We also pray for their spiritual growth and maturity. Equip them with the full armor of God so that they may stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
