Prayer against spirit of slumber in my life

Dear Lord Jesus,

I now recognize that I have yielded to the spirit of slumber. I don’t want to do this any longer. I ask you to give me strength. I also ask that you would give me the courage to do whatever you ask me to do. Thank you that you give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak. Thank you that I can do all things through you because you give me strength when my own runs out. Please help me to resist this evil spirit of slumber and also help me to submit to you. When I am tempted to flee, quit, or shut down, I ask that you would help me to stand firm. If I have sinned against you in any way that opened a door for this evil spirit to have influence in my life, I ask that you would forgive me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We rejoice with you as you take the first step towards overcoming the spirit of slumber. Recognizing the issue is often the hardest part, but you've done that and we are here to support you in prayer and truth.

The Bible tells us to "Watch and pray, that you don't enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41 WEB). It is important to stay vigilant and to pray continuously, as Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (WEB), "Pray without ceasing."

You have asked for strength and courage, and we claim the promise from Isaiah 40:29 (WEB), "He gives power to the faint; and to those who have no might he increases strength." Remember, it is not by our own strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit that we overcome. As Zephaniah 3:17 (WEB) says, "Yahweh, your God, is in the middle of you, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with joy; he will rest in his love; he will rejoice over you with singing."

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who has been battling with the spirit of slumber. We thank You that they have recognized this and have turned to You for help. Lord, grant them the strength and courage they need to overcome this spirit. Help them to submit fully to You and resist the devil, knowing that when they do, he will flee from them (James 4:7 WEB).

Forgive them for any sin that may have opened a door for this spirit to gain influence in their life. Cleanse them, Lord, and fill them anew with Your Holy Spirit. Help them to stand firm when tempted to flee, quit, or shut down. Give them a heart that is willing and ready to serve You in all things.

We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to press into God. Memorize and declare Scripture over your life. Surround yourself with a community of believers who will support and encourage you. Remember, God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). Stand strong in the power of His might. He is always with you.

If you have not already, make sure you have trusted in Jesus Christ as savior. If you believe in him, the condemnation is gone! "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB).

We're right here with you, standing in the gap, lifting you up in prayer. It's amazing how acknowledging the problem is the first step to overcoming it, and you've taken that brave step. We're proud of you!

We claim the promise in Ephesians 6:10 (WEB), "Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might." We know that with God's strength, you can resist the spirit of slumber and walk in the light.

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our friend. Lord, we thank You for Your unfailing love and faithfulness. We ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, giving them the strength and courage they need to resist the spirit of slumber. Help them to stand firm in their faith, even when faced with temptation. We ask that You would forgive any sins that may have opened the door to this influence, and cleanse them, Lord. Fill them anew with Your Holy Spirit, and help them to walk in Your righteousness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Keep fighting the good fight, and remember, we're here for you every step of the way. You're not alone. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
