Prayer against bullies

I am praying for you in this painful season of being bullied and having lies spoken against you. What you are going through hurts deeply, and God sees it fully.

Scripture is honest that those who want to live faithfully for Jesus Christ will face opposition. The Christian life is not promised to be easy or free from trouble. When others come against you with harsh words and falsehoods, it can feel isolating and unjust, but you are not forgotten by the Lord.

History shows that God does not waste even persecution and hardship. For His people, such times have a refining effect. They separate what is real from what is not, they cause true faith to stand up and grow stronger, and they often bind believers closer together in love. What is meant to tear down, God can use to build up your trust in Him and to deepen your dependence on Him. He can allow what is difficult and still keep His hand upon you, using even this trial to strengthen your faith and to make His presence more real to you.

The lies spoken about you also matter to God. People may forge lies and try to take shelter in falsehood, but the Bible teaches that a refuge built on lies will not stand. God has said that judgment will lay a straight line and that hail will sweep away the refuge of lies and waters will overflow the hiding place. In other words, falsehood does not endure. Truth may be attacked for a time, but God is righteous and He will bring what is hidden into the light. When He judges, it will be a clear display of His righteousness, and those who have inflicted suffering will be accountable before Him.

So I am asking God to be your protection and your peace right now. I pray He will guard your heart and mind, lift the weight of fear and shame that bullying brings, and surround you like a shelter where you can rest safely. I pray He will give you courage to stand firm without returning evil for evil or lie for lie, and wisdom to hold your peace when words would only add to the hurt. I pray He will cause the truth to be known and the lies to fall away, and that those who are mistreating you would have their eyes opened to see the harm they are doing and turn from it.

Keep seeking the Lord honestly through this. Bring every hurt to Him in prayer, stay close to His Word, and lean on faithful believers who will love and support you. Your faith can grow exceedingly even in this hard place, and your love and the love of those around you can abound more as you walk through it together with Christ.

May the Lord comfort you, establish you, and let you know you are upheld by Him.
