We come before the Lord with you, lifting up your heartfelt cry for protection and wisdom, knowing that our God is a mighty fortress and a shield to those who take refuge in Him. The Scriptures remind us in Isaiah 54:17, *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me,” says Yahweh.* What a powerful promise for you and your son! We claim this over your lives, trusting that the Lord will guard you against every scheme of the enemy, whether from trespassers, neighbors, coworkers, or even family who may seek to harm or undermine you.
Yet we must also remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness. Ephesians 6:12 tells us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* Because of this, we put on the full armor of God—truth, righteousness, the Gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God—as we stand firm in prayer for you. The Lord will expose every hidden snare and grant you discernment to recognize the tactics of the enemy before they take root.
We also turn to James 1:5, which assures us, *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."* You have asked for wisdom, guidance, and strength, and we declare that the Lord will pour out His wisdom upon you abundantly. He will direct your steps, giving you clarity in decisions and the courage to walk in obedience, even when the path seems unclear. Proverbs 3:5-6 further encourages us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Lean not on your own understanding, but surrender fully to His leading, for His ways are higher and His plans are perfect.
As we pray, we are also reminded of the importance of forgiveness, even toward those who may be acting as your adversaries. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:14-15, *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* While we pray for protection, we also ask the Lord to soften your heart toward those who may be causing harm, that you would release any bitterness or resentment, trusting God to be your vindicator. Romans 12:19-21 says, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.' Therefore 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.' Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."* This is not a call to passivity, but a call to trust in God’s justice while you walk in love and integrity.
We notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus, and we gently but urgently remind you that it is *only* through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and the authority to pray. Jesus Himself declares in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in John 16:23-24, He says, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* There is no other name by which we are saved, no other name with the power to break chains and bring deliverance. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you *will* be saved (Romans 10:9). Without this foundation, our prayers lack the authority and power that come from being in right relationship with God through Christ.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace on behalf of our sister and her son, lifting them up to You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ. Lord, You are a God of justice, protection, and unfailing love, and we ask that You surround them with Your heavenly host, placing a hedge of fire around them that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Every plan of the enemy to harm, intimidate, or oppress them, we declare null and void in Jesus’ name. Expose every hidden scheme, Lord, and frustrate the efforts of those who seek to do evil. Grant them supernatural discernment to recognize danger before it arises and the wisdom to navigate every situation with godly insight.
Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, strengthening them in their inner being so that they may stand firm in faith, unshaken by the storms around them. When fear knocks at the door, let faith answer. When confusion seeks to cloud their minds, let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Equip them with Your armor, Lord, that they may be ready for battle, standing firm in truth, righteousness, and the Gospel of peace.
We pray for their relationships, Father—even the difficult ones. Soften the hearts of those who may be acting as adversaries, and if it is Your will, bring conviction and repentance where needed. But most of all, Lord, guard our sister’s heart from bitterness. Help her to forgive as You have forgiven her, releasing every offense into Your hands. Let her walk in love, even toward those who may not deserve it, trusting You to fight her battles and vindicate her in Your perfect timing.
Father, we also lift up any areas of their lives that may not be aligned with Your Word. Search their hearts, Lord, and reveal anything that needs to be surrendered to You. If there is any sin—known or unknown—we ask for Your conviction and grace to repent. Cleanse them, Lord, and make them holy, set apart for Your purposes.
Finally, Father, we thank You that You are their Provider, Protector, and Peace. We trust You to go before them, making crooked paths straight and opening doors that no man can shut. Let Your favor rest upon them, and let Your light shine so brightly in their lives that others cannot help but see You in them.
We pray all these things in the powerful, saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
