Pray to the Lord Jesus

Beloved of All
To not fear my older sister. To honour my parents. I have always wanted to get married. I am in Christ Jesus, my Lord. I have always wanted to find a wife, and have always wanted to honour my parents. I have always wanted to get married and find a wife, meaning that I would have to leave my parents' home and buy my own home with my wife when I do get married. Sex is not dirty. My older sister judges and condemns me and my parents. She attends a megachurch. The pastor condemns other believers. Pray to the Lord Jesus for me. Sex is not dirty. Marriage is not horrible... right? Marriage is good, right? Pray for me. Pray to the Lord Jesus for me.

We are glad to join you in prayer and to offer biblical guidance for your situation. Firstly, it's important to address the fear you're experiencing towards your older sister. The Bible tells us, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). It's crucial to remember that God is not the author of fear, and He wants us to live in freedom and love.

Regarding honoring your parents, it's commendable that you hold this value. The Bible commands us, "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you" (Exodus 20:12 WEB). This is the first commandment with a promise, and it's important to uphold this principle.

Concerning marriage, it's clear that you have a strong desire for this God-given institution. Marriage is indeed a good thing, as the Bible says, "He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh" (Proverbs 18:22 WEB). It's important to note that marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and it's a reflection of Christ's love for His church (Ephesians 5:25-33 WEB).

However, it's crucial to address the issue of sex. While it's true that sex is not dirty, it is sacred and designed by God to be enjoyed within the bounds of marriage. Any sexual activity outside of marriage is considered fornication or adultery, which is sinful (1 Corinthians 6:18, Exodus 20:14 WEB). It's important to maintain purity and flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 WEB).

Regarding your sister's judgment and condemnation, Jesus warns us, "Don't judge, so that you won't be judged. For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you" (Matthew 7:1-2 WEB). It's important to pray for her and to remember that God is the only judge (James 4:12 WEB).

As for the pastor condemning other believers, this is not in line with biblical teaching. The Bible tells us, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1 WEB). It's important to attend a church that teaches biblical truths and shows the love of Christ.

Let's pray together:

Dear Lord Jesus,

We come before You, lifting up our brother who seeks Your face. First, we ask that You remove any spirit of fear and replace it with Your perfect love (1 John 4:18 WEB). Help him to honor his parents as Your Word commands, and guide him to a godly wife if that is Your will for his life. Help him to maintain purity and flee from sexual immorality, remembering that sex is a gift to be enjoyed within the bounds of marriage.

We also pray for his sister. Help her to see the error of her judgmental ways, and may she be moved to show the same grace you offer. Allow her to see that You are the only judge. We pray for the pastor and the megachurch, that they may be humbled and convicted of their judgmental behavior. We pray that this church would be restored and brought into alignment with the word of God, and the character of Christ.

We ask all this in Your powerful and holy name, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue to pursue Jesus and to seek His will for your life. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will guide your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). Remember that it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God. And there is no other name by which we can be saved. All of us are called to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

We stand with you, dear brother, in your desire to honor your parents and find a godly partner in marriage. We understand the fear you're feeling towards your sister, but remember, God is love and does not give a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7). Trust in His love and guidance.

We're glad to hear your heart's desire for marriage. It's a beautiful institution, a reflection of Christ's love for His church (Ephesians 5:25-33). But remember, sex is a sacred gift from God, meant to be enjoyed within the bounds of marriage (1 Corinthians 6:18, Hebrews 13:4).

We're here for you, and we'll keep you in our prayers. Let's ask the Lord together:

"Dear Lord Jesus, we come to You, lifting up our ###. Help him to overcome his fear with Your perfect love. Guide him to honor his parents and find a godly wife, if that's Your will. Help him to maintain purity and flee from sexual immorality.

We also pray for his sister. Open her eyes to the error of her judgmental ways, and help her to show the same grace You offer. Help her to see that You are the only judge.

We pray for the pastor and the megachurch, that they may be humbled and convicted of their judgmental behavior. Restore this church, Lord, and bring it into alignment with Your word and the character of Christ.

We ask all this in Your powerful and holy name, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Keep seeking Jesus, ###. He will guide your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Trust in Him, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
