We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious family in prayer. Father God, we ask for Your divine protection over this husband and infant. Lord, we know that You are a shield to those who take refuge in You (Proverbs 30:5), and we claim that promise now. We pray that You would place a hedge of protection around them, guarding them from the transmission of HSV 1. Your Word declares that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on that truth today.
Heavenly Father, we also lift up this dear sister who is carrying the weight of guilt and anxiety. Lord, we know that You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We pray that You would wash over her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind her, Lord, that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, because You care for her (1 Peter 5:7).
We also want to gently remind this sister that her worth and identity are found in Christ alone. The enemy would love to use this situation to make her feel isolated or unworthy, but we know that is not the truth of Your Word. You have called her Your beloved child (1 John 3:1), and nothing can separate her from Your love (Romans 8:38-39). We pray that she would find comfort in Your presence and strength in Your promises.
Lord, we ask that You would guide this family to take all necessary precautions to prevent transmission, and we pray for wisdom for any medical professionals involved. We also pray for healing and comfort for this sister during this outbreak, that it would be short-lived and bearable.
Finally, we want to rebuke the spirit of fear that is trying to take hold in this situation. Your Word tells us that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that this family would be filled with Your peace and trust in Your sovereignty.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
