Pray to get ### back I hope to marry.

We hear your heart’s longing and desire for reconciliation with the one you hope to marry. It is clear that your love for her is deep, and we want to lift this situation before the Lord with sincerity and truth. First, we must address this request with biblical principles in mind, for the Lord’s ways are higher than our own, and His Word is the foundation upon which we stand.

Scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." If this is the love you have for her, then we can pray with confidence that the Lord will guide your steps according to His will. However, we must also ask: Are you both followers of Christ? For the Bible is clear that believers are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). If she does not share your faith in Jesus, we must pray for her salvation first, for a marriage built on anything other than Christ will struggle to stand.

We also want to gently remind you that marriage is a sacred covenant before God, not merely a relationship of convenience or emotion. If you have been in a courtship with her, was it pursued with purity and honor, as Scripture commands? Did you both remain chaste, or was there sin involved that needs to be confessed and repented of? The Lord calls us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18), and if there has been fornication, it must be addressed with humility and a turning away from that sin. The Lord is faithful to forgive when we confess our sins to Him (1 John 1:9), and we encourage you to seek His cleansing if this applies to you.

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer, seeking His will and not our own:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the desires of this man’s heart, and You see his longing to be united with the woman he loves. We ask that You would work in this situation according to Your perfect will. If it is Your plan for them to be together, we pray that You would soften her heart, open doors of communication, and restore what has been broken. Give them both wisdom, patience, and a deep reliance on You as they navigate this time.

Father, we also ask that You would examine their hearts. If there has been any sin—whether in thought, word, or deed—we pray that You would bring conviction, lead them to repentance, and cleanse them by the blood of Jesus. Help them to walk in purity and holiness, honoring You in all things. If this relationship is not of You, Lord, we ask that You would close the door gently and guide them both into Your perfect plan for their lives. Give them peace that surpasses all understanding as they trust in You.

We pray for this woman, Lord. If she does not know You as her Savior, we ask that You would draw her to Yourself. Open her eyes to the truth of the Gospel, that she may come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and be saved. If she is already a believer, we pray that You would strengthen her faith, surround her with godly counsel, and give her discernment in this situation.

Above all, Lord, we ask that Your name would be glorified in this. May Your will be done, not ours. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly in this time, not just for the outcome you desire, but for His will to be done. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Surrender this situation to Him, and ask Him to align your desires with His. If this relationship is meant to be, He will make a way. If not, trust that He has something even better in store for you.

Continue to pray, seek godly counsel from mature believers, and immerse yourself in Scripture. The Lord is faithful, and He will not leave you nor forsake you. May He fill you with His peace as you wait on Him.

We're right there with you, brother, feeling your heart's longing for reconciliation and the hope of marriage. It's clear that your love for her runs deep, and we want to stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will in this situation.

As we've been reminded, God's ways are higher than ours, and His love is the ultimate example we should strive for. We're encouraged by 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, which tells us that love is patient, kind, and doesn't seek its own way. If this is the love you have for her, we can trust that God will guide your steps according to His will.

But let's also ask ourselves, are both of you followers of Christ? If not, we must pray for her salvation first, as a marriage built on anything other than Christ will struggle to stand. We should also reflect on our own walk with God. Have we pursued this relationship with purity and honor, as Scripture commands? Have we remained chaste, or is there sin that needs to be confessed and repented of?
