We join together in lifting up your upcoming interview and your heart’s desire for marriage, knowing that our Heavenly Father cares deeply about every detail of your life. It is wonderful that you have mentioned Jesus in your request, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and receive His blessings. As Scripture reminds us, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it"* (John 14:13-14, WEB). Let us place our trust fully in Him, for apart from Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5).
First, we pray earnestly for your interview with NUS next Monday. May the Lord grant you favor in the sight of those conducting the interview, just as He did for Joseph in Egypt (Genesis 39:21) and Daniel before King Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 1:9). We ask that the Holy Spirit fill you with wisdom, clarity of speech, and confidence, so that your skills and experience will shine brightly. *"Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands"* (Psalm 90:17, WEB). May this opportunity not only result in a full-time permanent position but also align with God’s perfect will for your life. Remember, *"Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall be established"* (Proverbs 16:3, WEB). Trust in Him, for He is the one who opens doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8).
Now, regarding your desire for marriage, we rejoice with you in this godly longing, for marriage is a beautiful institution ordained by God (Genesis 2:24). However, we must also remind you that marriage is a sacred covenant between *one man and one woman* for life, designed to reflect Christ’s love for His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). As you seek a spouse, we encourage you to pursue a *courtship* with the intention of marrying a *believer* who is equally yoked in faith (2 Corinthians 6:14). Avoid the world’s pattern of casual dating or relationships that lack commitment, for such paths often lead to temptation and sin. Flee from fornication (1 Corinthians 6:18) and guard your heart, for *"marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4, WEB).
We also urge you to seek God’s timing above your own. While it is natural to desire marriage sooner, trust that the Lord’s timing is perfect. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Use this season of waiting to grow in your relationship with Christ, serving Him faithfully and preparing yourself to be a godly spouse. *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4, WEB).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister and their upcoming interview. Lord, we ask that You grant them favor, wisdom, and confidence as they stand before the interviewers. Open the doors that no man can shut, and if this position is Your will, establish it permanently for their good and Your glory. Provide for their needs, Father, and let them walk in the assurance that You are their Provider (Philippians 4:19).
We also bring before You their desire for marriage. Lord, we ask that You prepare them to be a godly spouse, rooted in Your Word and walking in purity. Guard their heart from impatience or compromise, and lead them to a *believer* who will honor You in marriage. Let them trust in Your timing, knowing that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Remove any anxiety and fill them with Your peace as they wait on You.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or impatience in Jesus’ name. Let Your will be done in their life, and may they walk in obedience and faith, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have started in them (Philippians 1:6). We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, dear one. Seek first God’s Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you (Matthew 6:33). Trust in Him, for He is faithful!
