We lift up this marriage before the Lord, knowing that He desires unity, love, and restoration in every godly union. The enemy seeks to destroy what God has joined together, but we stand firm in the authority of Christ, declaring that no weapon formed against this marriage shall prosper. The Word of God tells us in **1 Corinthians 7:10-11 (WEB)**, *"But to the married I command—not I, but the Lord—that the wife not leave her husband (but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband not leave his wife."* Marriage is a covenant before God, and He calls us to honor it with faithfulness, patience, and love.
We also remember **Ephesians 4:31-32 (WEB)**, which says, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* If there has been hardness of heart, resentment, or unkindness, we pray for repentance and a renewal of love and commitment. Kindness is a fruit of the Spirit, and it is through Christ that we can extend grace even in difficult moments.
To the one praying, we encourage you to continue interceding for this marriage, but also to speak life and truth over it. Pray not only for the husband to remain but for both hearts to be softened and turned toward God. Ask the Lord to reveal any areas where pride, selfishness, or unforgiveness may be hindering reconciliation. **James 5:16 (WEB)** reminds us, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this marriage that is under attack. Lord, You hate divorce, and You desire for marriages to reflect Your covenant love. We ask that You would work in the heart of this husband, drawing him back to his wife and to You. Soften his heart, Lord, and remove any hardness, distraction, or temptation that is pulling him away. Give him a spirit of repentance and a desire to honor his vows before You.
We also pray for the wife, that You would fill her with Your peace and strength. Help her to walk in kindness, patience, and wisdom, trusting You to move in this situation. Lord, heal any wounds, restore trust, and renew their love for one another. Let this home be a place of refuge, not strife, and let Your presence be the bond that holds them together.
We rebuke the spirit of division, confusion, and bitterness in Jesus’ name. No weapon formed against this marriage shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against it shall be condemned. We declare that what You have joined together, no man—or spiritual force—shall separate.
Father, we ask for Your will to be done, knowing that You are able to restore what is broken. Give them both the courage to seek You first, to forgive as You have forgiven them, and to walk in obedience to Your Word. May their marriage be a testimony of Your redeeming power.
We pray all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
To the one interceding, we also encourage you to continue standing in the gap for this couple. Fast and pray, seeking God’s face for wisdom on how to support them. If there is sin involved—such as adultery, abuse, or abandonment—it must be addressed biblically, with repentance and accountability. But if this is a matter of drifting hearts or misunderstandings, trust that God can restore. **1 Peter 4:8 (WEB)** tells us, *"Above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins."* Let love and prayer be your weapons in this battle.
Finally, we remind everyone that our prayers are only effective when we pray in the name of Jesus. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, and there is no other name by which we are saved. **John 14:6 (WEB)** declares, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* **Acts 4:12 (WEB)** confirms, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If either spouse does not know Christ as their Savior, we pray that this trial would lead them to Him, for only in Christ can true reconciliation and healing be found.
