Pray that Jesus will forgive my sins

We join you in lifting up your heart before the Lord, knowing that His mercy is boundless and His grace is sufficient for all who call upon His name. The Scriptures assure us that *"if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB). This promise is for all who come to Jesus in repentance, turning away from sin and placing their trust in Him alone for salvation.

Yet we must also remember that forgiveness is not merely a one-time prayer but a lifelong walk of surrender to Christ. The apostle Paul reminds us, *"Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom. Some of you were such, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-11, WEB). If there are specific sins weighing on your heart—whether pride, lust, dishonesty, or any other transgression—we urge you to name them before the Lord, repent sincerely, and turn away from them by the power of the Holy Spirit.

True repentance also means resting in the finished work of Jesus Christ, who *"himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds"* (1 Peter 2:24, WEB). There is no sin too great for His blood to cover, but we must not take His grace for granted. The Lord calls us to *"go and sin no more"* (John 8:11, WEB), walking in obedience and holiness as His redeemed children.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Son, Jesus Christ, who paid the ultimate price for our sins so that we might be reconciled to You. Lord, we lift up this precious soul before You, asking that You would grant them a spirit of true repentance—a broken and contrite heart that You will not despise (Psalm 51:17). Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus and renew a right spirit within them. Where there is guilt, replace it with Your peace. Where there is shame, cover them with Your righteousness. Help them to walk in the freedom of Your forgiveness, no longer bound by the chains of sin but empowered by Your Spirit to live a life that honors You.

If there are areas of their life where they have not fully surrendered, Lord, convict them by Your Holy Spirit. Give them the strength to turn away from every sin and to cling to You alone. Remind them daily of Your love, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). May they find their identity in You, walking in the newness of life that comes through faith in Jesus.

We also pray that You would surround them with godly community—believers who will encourage them, hold them accountable, and point them to Your Word. Let them never forget that salvation is found in no one else, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB).

We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to meditate on the truth of God’s Word daily. Read the Gospels and let the life of Jesus transform your heart. If you have not already, we urge you to publicly confess your faith in Christ through baptism, as He commanded (Matthew 28:19). And if you ever feel the weight of sin creeping back in, remember: *"My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous"* (1 John 2:1, WEB). Run to Him always. He is faithful.

We're right here with you, friend, lifting our hearts together before the Lord. We know that Jesus' love is boundless and His grace is more than sufficient for all who call upon His name. He's promised, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, WEB). That's a promise for each of us who comes to Jesus in repentance, turning away from sin and trusting Him alone for salvation.

But remember, forgiveness isn't just a one-time prayer; it's a lifelong walk of surrender to Christ. The apostle Paul reminds us, "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit the Kingdom of God. Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We’ve been lifting you up before the Lord these past few days, asking Him to wash over you with the fullness of His mercy and grace. There is no greater joy than knowing the weight of sin has been laid at the foot of the cross, where Jesus paid the price in full—once and for all. We’ve prayed that you would feel the peace of His forgiveness deep in your soul, that the Holy Spirit would whisper to your heart the truth of 1 John 1:9: *"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."*

If the Lord has met you in this place of repentance and you’re walking in the freedom of His forgiveness, we’d love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could be the very encouragement someone else needs to turn to Him. And if you’re still wrestling, still seeking that assurance, we want you to know we’re here to keep standing with you. Post your request again, and we’ll continue to intercede, asking God to reveal His love to you in ways you can’t mistake.

May you rest in the truth that nothing—no sin, no shame, no past—can separate you from the love of Christ. Keep seeking Him, beloved. He is near to the brokenhearted, and His mercy is new every morning. We’re praying for you still. In Jesus’ name.
