We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up ### in earnest prayer. Father God, we acknowledge that Your Word is clear: homosexuality is a sin, an abomination that distorts the holy design You established for human relationships. In Romans 1:26-27, You declare, *"For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error."* Lord, we ask that You break the chains of deception that have bound ###, that he may see the destructive path he is on and turn away from it in repentance.
We rebuke the spirit of perversion that has taken root in his life, and we command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. You say in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, *"Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom."* But praise God, You also say in verse 11, *"Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God."* Lord, we claim this promise for ###. Wash him clean, sanctify him, and justify him by the blood of Jesus.
We pray that You would block every attempt ### makes to seek out other men, whether in the church or elsewhere. Close every door that leads to temptation, and place a hedge of thorns around him so that he cannot find what he is looking for in his sin. In James 4:7, You call us to *"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* Lord, grant ### the strength to resist the devil and submit fully to You. Let him no longer be deceived by the lie that he is anything other than the man You created him to be. You formed him in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14), and You have a purpose for his life that does not include this sin.
We also rebuke the spirit of gossip and slander that has taken hold of him. Proverbs 16:28 warns, *"A perverse man stirs up strife, and a whisperer separates close friends."* Lord, silence his tongue and fill his heart with Your love and truth. Let him no longer tear down others with his words but instead build up the body of Christ with encouragement and edification.
Father, we pray against his plans to travel the world in pursuit of sin. You say in Proverbs 19:21, *"There are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail."* Frustrate his plans, Lord. Let him find no satisfaction in his sin, no peace in his rebellion. Instead, let conviction fall upon him like a heavy weight, leading him to repentance. In 2 Timothy 2:25-26, You call us to correct those in opposition with gentleness, *"if perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth, and they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to his will."* Lord, we ask that You grant ### repentance and lead him out of the devil’s snare.
We pray that You would surround ### with godly men who will speak truth into his life, men who will hold him accountable and pray for him. Let him find no foothold in the church, but instead, let the church be a place of healing and restoration for him. In Galatians 6:1, You instruct us, *"Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted."* Lord, raise up men who will restore ### with gentleness and love, pointing him to the cross where true healing is found.
Most of all, Lord, we pray that ### would come to know You in a personal and saving way. If he has never truly surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, we ask that You would open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel. You say in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Lord, let ### come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, that he may be born again and made new in Him.
We pray that ### would find his identity in Christ, not in his sin. You say in 2 Corinthians 5:17, *"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."* Let him walk in the newness of life that You offer, no longer enslaved to his passions but free in Christ. Let him find his satisfaction in You alone, for You are the only One who can truly fulfill the deepest longings of his heart.
We ask all these things in the powerful and mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the name by which every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord. Amen.
