We come before the Lord with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up your daughter and her struggles with alcohol. The Scriptures warn us clearly in Proverbs 20:1, *"Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise."* This is a spiritual battle, and we must recognize that drunkenness is a sin that grieves the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). Yet we also know that *"no temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure"* (1 Corinthians 10:13).
We pray earnestly that your daughter would experience deep conviction of her sin and turn to Jesus Christ for forgiveness and strength. May the Lord break the chains of addiction in her life, for *"whom the Son makes free, is free indeed"* (John 8:36). We ask that God would fill the void in her heart with His love, replacing the temporary escape of alcohol with the eternal hope found only in Him.
Father, we also pray for her return to work, that she would find purpose and provision through honest labor. *"For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone will not work, neither let him eat'"*(2 Thessalonians 3:10). Restore her diligence and discipline, Lord, and open doors of opportunity for her to provide for herself in a way that honors You.
We rebuke the enemy’s hold on her life and declare that *"greater is He who is in [her], than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). May she surrender fully to Christ, allowing Him to transform her mind and renew her spirit. Let her testimony be one of redemption, where others see Your power to save and restore.
We also encourage you, dear parent, to continue standing in the gap for your daughter. *"The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16). Do not grow weary in praying, and trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. If your daughter is not walking with the Lord, we urge you to share the Gospel with her—the good news that Jesus Christ died for her sins and rose again, offering her forgiveness and new life. *"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved"* (Acts 16:31).
Father, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace. May Your will be done in her life, and may she come to know You deeply and personally. Amen.
