We understand you are lifting up someone in prayer, and we join you in seeking God’s perfect will for this person’s life. However, we notice that the name of Jesus Christ is not mentioned in your request, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said, *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB), and *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son"* (John 14:13, WEB). The name of Jesus is the foundation of our prayers, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB).
If you or the person you are praying for does not yet have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider this truth: *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"* (Romans 10:9-10, WEB). Without faith in Christ, our prayers lack the power and authority that come from being in right standing with God.
We also encourage you to pray specifically rather than using placeholders. God knows the heart and the names of those we lift before Him. There is power in calling upon Him with clarity and faith, trusting that He hears and answers according to His will.
Let us pray together for this person, asking that God’s will be done in his life, that he may walk in obedience, faith, and purpose. If he does not know Christ, we pray for his salvation and surrender to the Lordship of Jesus.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this man to You, asking that Your perfect will be done in his life. Lord, if he does not yet know You, we pray that You would draw him to Yourself, that his heart would be opened to receive the truth of the Gospel. Convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and lead him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.
Father, if he is already Your child, we ask that You would guide his steps, grant him wisdom, and surround him with godly influences. Protect him from the snares of the enemy and the temptations of this world. Give him a heart that seeks You above all else, and let him walk in the purpose and calling You have prepared for him. Remove any idols, distractions, or ungodly relationships that may hinder his spiritual growth. If he is in need of a spouse, we pray that You would prepare a godly woman who loves You and walks in Your ways, that their marriage may honor You and reflect Christ’s love for the Church.
We rebuke any plans of the enemy to lead this man astray, and we declare that Your will shall prevail in his life. Strengthen him in faith, fill him with Your Holy Spirit, and let him be a light in this dark world. May he find his identity and satisfaction in You alone.
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
