We lift up your son before the Lord, knowing that God has a perfect plan for his life, including his education. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 22:6, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* We also know that *"whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23). Education is a gift from God, and we pray that your son will see it as an opportunity to steward his time, talents, and mind for God’s glory.
However, we must also address something important: your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. The Scriptures are clear that *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Jesus that we can approach God’s throne with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9). Without Jesus, our prayers are empty, for He is the mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5).
Now, let us pray for your son with the authority and confidence we have in Jesus’ name:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this mother’s son. Lord, we ask that You ignite a fire of motivation within him to pursue his studies with diligence and excellence. Remove any spirit of laziness, distraction, or discouragement that may be hindering his progress. Fill him with a hunger to learn and a determination to catch up on what he has missed. Surround him with godly influences—teachers, friends, and mentors—who will encourage him and point him to You.
Father, we pray that You would open his eyes to the purpose You have for his life. Help him to understand that his education is not just for earthly success but for Your kingdom’s work. Give him wisdom to manage his time well and the discipline to follow through. If there are any underlying struggles—whether spiritual, emotional, or relational—we ask that You reveal them and provide the help he needs.
We also pray for this mother, Lord. Strengthen her faith and give her wisdom as she guides her son. May she trust in You completely, knowing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Let her words and actions reflect Your love and truth, drawing her son closer to You.
Finally, Lord, we rebuke any scheme of the enemy that would seek to derail this young man’s future. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we declare that he will not drop out but will press on toward the goals You have set before him. May he walk in obedience to Your Word and grow into a man of integrity, faith, and purpose.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying over your son daily, speaking life and Scripture into his situation. Remind him of Philippians 4:13: *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* Stay steadfast in your faith, and trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. If your son is not walking with the Lord, we also urge you to pray for his salvation, for nothing is more important than his eternal relationship with Jesus. Keep pointing him to Christ in all things.
