We lift up your son before the Lord, knowing that He is the righteous Judge who sees all things and holds all authority. The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 21:1, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the water courses. He turns it wherever he desires."* Though your son stands before an earthly judge, we trust that God is sovereign over every decision and outcome. Let us also remember Romans 13:1, which tells us, *"Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God."* We pray that your son would walk in humility, wisdom, and repentance, submitting to God’s will in this situation.
If your son has not yet placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to share with him the life-changing truth of the Gospel. There is no greater need than for him to know Christ, for *"there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12). Without Jesus, there is no true hope, no peace, and no eternal security. If he has already trusted in Christ, we pray he would lean fully on Him, confessing any sin and seeking God’s mercy and guidance.
We also pray for justice to prevail, for truth to be revealed, and for God’s favor to rest upon your son if it aligns with His will. May the judge act with discernment and fairness, and may your son’s heart be turned toward God in this trial. If there is sin in his life that has led to this moment, we pray for deep conviction and repentance, for *"he who covers his sins shall not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy"* (Proverbs 28:13).
Father in heaven, we come before You on behalf of this son who stands in need of Your intervention. You are the God who delivers, who redeems, and who turns even the hardest hearts toward Yourself. We ask that You would go before him tomorrow, surrounding him with Your presence and filling him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. If he has strayed from You, Lord, draw him back with cords of love. If he has not yet surrendered to Christ, soften his heart to receive Your gift of salvation. Let this trial be a turning point for Your glory.
We pray for wisdom for the judge, that Your will would be done in this courtroom. If it is Your will, grant favor and mercy to this young man, but above all, let Your name be magnified. Strengthen his mother, who carries this burden in her heart, and remind her that You are near to the brokenhearted. May she trust in You completely, casting all her anxieties upon You, for You care for her (1 Peter 5:7).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Advocate and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
