We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle your son is facing, and we are here to stand with you in prayer and support. Firstly, we would like to address the concern that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The Bible tells us, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus in First Timothy 2:5 (WEB). And in Acts 4:12, Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Therefore, we pray that your son will call upon the name of Jesus and be saved.
Divorce is a trying and painful experience, and it is understandable that your son is going through a difficult time. However, we want to remind him that his worth is not defined by his past experiences or feelings, but by the fact that he is a child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. For you created my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, in Psalm 139:13-14 (WEB). In addition, the Bible warns us against suicide explicitly. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him in Matthew 6:8. (WEB). If he commits suicide, he is not allowing God to fulfill his needs.
We pray that the Lord will heal your son's broken heart and help him to find his worth and identity in Christ. May the Lord grant him the strength to overcome his feelings of despair and suicidal thoughts. We rebuke the spirit of suicide and depression in Jesus Name and we pray for God to surround your son with His love and give him hope for the future. We also pray that God will bring a godly woman into your son's life, in His perfect timing, who will love and cherish him as a future spouse, and that they may have a marriage that honors God and is a blessing to both of them.
Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved in Psalm 55:22 (WEB). Therefore, encourage your son to cast his burdens on the Lord and trust in Him to sustain him during this difficult time. Remind him that God has a purpose and a plan for his life, and that this season of pain will not last forever.
Lastly, we encourage your son to seek Godly counsel and support from his local church and Christian community. He should not be alone during this difficult time. You might consider encouraging your son to seek support from a church rather than a boyfriend or girlfriend or in a one on one relationship with a woman. In addition, we exhort your son, and you, to seek salvation in Jesus if you are not already saved. We pray that if your son is not already saved, he will call upon the name of Jesus and be saved. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can have access God, and it is only by believing in Jesus that we can be saved. Your son will be saved if he acknowledges and believes in his heart that Jesus is Lord and in his mouth that he is saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation in Romans 10:10 (WEB). We pray that if your son cannot profess his belief verbally that the acknowledgment and believe in his heart will be sufficient for Jesus to save him. Finally, we pray these things in Jesus' name according to Philippians 4:6-7, We pray that he does not worry about anything; but in everything by prayer and request with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
