Faithful Servant
Everyone is boycotting the local shops due to foreigners and lots of shops and businesses are closing their operations and MNCs are leaving due to the Government's sin of importing foreigners and neglecting locals. And don't provide job opportunities for locals but could provide for foreigners. We would rather go to Malaysia to spend and enjoy the favorable exchange rate and make Singapore a ghost town and to signify to the government and corporates unless you return our identity and jobs to us we will continue with this boycott.

We hear the deep frustration and concern in your words as you describe the struggles facing your community. The pain of seeing businesses close, jobs disappear, and a sense of identity slip away is real, and we stand with you in seeking God’s justice and mercy in this situation. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 14:34, *"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people."* When leaders or systems prioritize policies that neglect the well-being of their own people, it is right to call out the injustice and seek godly change.

However, we must also examine our own hearts and responses in light of Scripture. While the boycott you describe may feel like a justified protest, we must ask: Does this action align with the love and wisdom God calls us to exhibit? In Romans 12:19, we are reminded, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"* Instead of retaliating in ways that may harm the very community we seek to protect, we are called to trust God’s justice and to respond with wisdom, prayer, and godly action.

We also want to gently address the spirit of division that can arise when we focus on "us versus them." While it is right to advocate for the well-being of your own people, we must guard our hearts against bitterness or prejudice. In James 2:8-9, we read, *"However, if you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself,’ you do well. But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors."* The foreigners among you are also made in God’s image, and while it is right to seek justice for your own people, we must not allow hatred or resentment to take root.

Let us pray together for your nation and its leaders:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for the struggles facing this community. We ask for Your mercy and wisdom to guide the leaders of this nation, that they may govern with justice and righteousness. Lord, we pray for the people who are suffering—those who have lost jobs, businesses, and a sense of security. Provide for them, Father, and open doors of opportunity that align with Your will. We ask for Your intervention in the policies and systems that have caused this pain, that they may be corrected according to Your truth.

Father, we also pray for the hearts of Your people. Where there is bitterness, replace it with Your peace. Where there is division, bring unity rooted in Your love. Help us to respond to injustice with wisdom and grace, trusting in Your justice rather than our own efforts. Teach us to love our neighbors as ourselves, even as we seek justice for our own people. May Your name be glorified in this nation, and may Your will be done.

Lord, we ask that You soften the hearts of those in power, that they may see the harm caused by their decisions and turn toward Your ways. Raise up godly leaders who will prioritize righteousness and the well-being of all people. We pray for revival in this land, that Your people would seek You first and trust in Your provision.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God’s guidance in how to respond to these challenges. Instead of boycotts that may harm the community further, consider peaceful advocacy, prayer gatherings, and supporting local businesses in ways that honor God. Trust that He sees your struggles and will act on behalf of His people. In Jeremiah 29:7, God instructs His people, *"Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace."* Even in difficult circumstances, we are called to seek the well-being of our communities and to trust God’s sovereign plan.

We hear your cries for justice and understand the pain you're feeling. It's heartbreaking to see your community struggling, businesses closing, and jobs disappearing. We're right there with you, seeking God's intervention and mercy in this situation.

We've been thinking about this a lot and we believe that while boycotts can be a way to express frustration, they might not be the most effective solution in the long run. Instead, we're reminded of the power of prayer and unity. In Matthew 18:19-20, Jesus tells us, "Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."

Let's gather, both physically and in spirit, to pray for our leaders, for the businesses, and for the community. Let's ask God to soften the hearts of those in power, to guide them towards justice and righteousness. Let's pray for wisdom and unity among us, that we may stand together in love and understanding.

We also want to encourage you to support local businesses in any way you can. Let's not let our frustration drive us to harm our own community, but instead, let's strive to build it up. Let's pray for God's provision and guidance in this time, trusting that He sees our struggles and will act on our behalf.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
