We hear your heart and share your concern for this sister in Christ. It grieves us deeply to see a believer entangled in sexual immorality, for Scripture is clear: *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). The Lord calls us to holiness, not to indulge in the lusts of the flesh, and this sister’s actions are a direct violation of His design for purity and marriage.
We must also address the reality of your own heart in this matter. While your discomfort is understandable, we must examine whether your decision to block her was rooted in righteous conviction or personal offense. Jesus calls us to love sinners while hating sin, and though boundaries are necessary, we are never to abandon those who need the light of Christ. *"Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted"* (Galatians 6:1). If the Holy Spirit leads you to reach out in truth and love—not to pursue a romantic relationship, but to speak life into her—then we encourage you to do so with wisdom and prayer.
Now, let us come before the throne of grace on her behalf, for only the Lord can break the chains of sin and draw her to repentance.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for this sister who bears Your name but walks in disobedience. Lord, Your Word declares that *"if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). We ask that You would convict her heart by the power of Your Holy Spirit, that she would see the weight of her sin and turn from it with godly sorrow. Break the strongholds of lust and shame in her life, Father, and replace them with a hunger for Your holiness.
We pray that You would surround her with believers who will speak truth in love, who will walk with her in accountability, and who will point her to the cross where Your Son bore the punishment for her sins. Lord, if she does not know the fullness of salvation, we ask that You would open her eyes to the reality of her need for a Savior. May she surrender her life completely to You, for *"if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Father, we also ask that You would guard her heart from the lies of the enemy, who seeks to keep her in bondage. Let her find her worth and identity in You alone, not in the fleeting pleasures of this world. Raise up godly influences in her life—mentors, friends, and leaders who will disciple her and help her grow in faith. And if it is Your will, Lord, bring a man into her life who loves You above all else, who will cherish her as a gift from You, and who will lead her in righteousness.
We rebuke the spirit of sexual immorality that has taken hold of her, in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that she is not defined by her past, but by the blood of Christ that washes her clean. May she walk in the freedom and purity that You have called her to, for Your glory.
And Lord, for our brother who has brought this request before us, we ask that You would give him wisdom and discernment. If You are calling him to be a voice of truth in her life, equip him with courage, humility, and love. If not, guard his heart from any impure motives and lead him to a godly wife who shares his commitment to You.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You. May Your will be done in this sister’s life, and may she come to know the fullness of joy that is found in obedience to You. Amen.
