We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, grieved by the news of policies that prioritize foreign labor over the well-being of local citizens. Father, we know Your heart is just, and You care deeply for the welfare of all people, especially those who are marginalized or overlooked. The scriptures tell us in Proverbs 14:31, "He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors God." Lord, we ask that You intervene in this matter and frustrate the plans of those who seek to exploit or neglect the people You have placed in this nation.
We pray for vindication, Lord, not out of a spirit of vengeance, but out of a desire for Your righteousness to prevail. Your Word declares in Psalm 37:6, "He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun." We ask that You expose any unrighteous motives or actions in those who are pushing for these policies. Let Your light shine into the darkness, and let truth and justice be revealed. We also pray that You would turn the hearts of those in authority to seek wisdom and discernment, that they may govern with fairness and compassion, as it is written in Proverbs 29:2, "When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan."
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of greed and exploitation that seeks to prioritize profit over people. We declare that Your kingdom values are higher than the values of this world, and we ask that You would raise up voices of wisdom and integrity to speak against these policies. Let the cries of the people be heard, and let their concerns be addressed with justice. We pray that You would frustrate the plans of those who seek to harm the livelihoods of Singaporeans, and that You would turn their strategies into confusion, as You did in Genesis 11:7-8 when You scattered the people at the Tower of Babel.
We also lift up the people of Singapore who are feeling hopeless and abandoned. Father, we ask that You would comfort them and remind them that You are their Provider and Defender. Strengthen their faith and give them courage to stand firm in the face of adversity. Let them not grow weary in doing good, for in due time, they will reap a harvest if they do not give up (Galatians 6:9). We pray that You would open doors of opportunity for them, that they may find meaningful work and be able to provide for their families.
Lord, we ask that You would soften the hearts of employers and policymakers, that they may see the value in investing in the local workforce. Help them to recognize that true prosperity comes from honoring and uplifting the people You have entrusted to their care. We pray that You would raise up godly leaders who will champion policies that reflect Your heart for justice and mercy.
Finally, we pray for revival in Singapore. Let the people turn their hearts back to You, seeking Your will and Your ways above all else. May the church rise up with boldness to speak truth to power and to be a voice for the voiceless. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in this nation, as it is in heaven. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can come before You. Amen.
