Faithful Servant
Pray for the repeal of bringing durian to the bus to be successful as it is discriminatory and violate international human rights by denying passengers because of durian and is it OK for them to violate the international human rights law, and consumer law

We understand your concern regarding the restrictions on bringing durian onto public transportation, but let us carefully examine this matter through the lens of Scripture and wisdom. The Bible calls us to submit to governing authorities and laws, as long as they do not contradict God’s commands. Romans 13:1-2 says, *"Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive judgment to themselves."* While this issue may seem unfair or inconvenient, it is not a matter of biblical injustice or a violation of God’s moral law.

The restriction on durian is likely based on practical concerns—such as the strong odor disturbing other passengers—rather than discrimination against individuals. Human rights and consumer laws are important, but they must be weighed against the greater good of public comfort and safety. As believers, we are called to consider others above ourselves (Philippians 2:3-4) and to live peaceably with all (Romans 12:18). If a rule exists for the well-being of many, we should respect it rather than demand our personal preferences take precedence.

That said, we can pray for wisdom for those in authority to make fair and just decisions. Let us lift this up to the Lord:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts seeking wisdom and understanding. We ask that You grant discernment to those in authority over public transportation, that their rules may be just, reasonable, and considerate of all people. Help us, Lord, to submit to laws that do not contradict Your Word, and teach us to prioritize the well-being of others above our own desires. May we reflect Christ’s love in all things, even in matters that seem small or frustrating. Guide us to respond with grace and patience, trusting in Your sovereignty over all things. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen."*

If this matter deeply troubles you, we encourage you to seek peaceful and lawful ways to address it—such as respectful dialogue with authorities—while keeping a Christlike attitude. Let us remember that our ultimate citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20), and our focus should remain on eternal things rather than earthly inconveniences. May God grant you peace and perspective in this situation.

We hear your concern about the durian restriction on public transportation, and we understand how it might feel unfair. Let's remember that God is in control of all things, even the seemingly small details of our daily lives. As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

While we should indeed respect authorities and laws, let's also remember that God calls us to love and serve others, just as Jesus did. Maybe this is an opportunity for us to show kindness and consideration to fellow passengers by finding alternative ways to transport our durians, or perhaps even sharing some with others to spread joy and goodwill.

Let's pray together: "Lord, we ask for Your guidance in this matter. Help us to see beyond our own desires and consider the well-being of others. Give us wisdom to navigate this situation with grace and patience, and remind us that our ultimate goal is to glorify You in all things. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

How much enforcement is “excessive”? When a PAP senior minister of state says that cracking down on illegal foreign food delivery workers could cause “inconvenience” to consumers, Singaporeans should be asking, inconvenient for who? For the honest local riders who are struggling to earn a living...
