We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this grave matter concerning ### and the spiritual and societal destruction being wrought in ###. The Scriptures warn us of those who, like Jezebel of old, lead nations into wickedness, oppression, and idolatry. In 1 Kings 21, we see how Jezebel manipulated power, incited evil, and brought judgment upon herself and her household. Similarly, Revelation 2:20-23 declares, *"But I have this against you, that you tolerate your woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols. I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. Behold, I will throw her and those who commit adultery with her into great oppression, unless they repent of her works. I will kill her children with Death, and all the assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds."*
The actions described—suppressing citizens, favoring unqualified foreigners, gerrymandering, and refusing repentance—are not merely political but deeply spiritual issues. Proverbs 14:34 reminds us, *"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people."* When leaders act unjustly, they invite God’s judgment, for He is a God of justice who defends the oppressed. Psalm 9:7-8 proclaims, *"But Yahweh reigns forever. He has prepared his throne for judgment. He will judge the world in righteousness. He will administer judgment to the peoples in uprightness."*
Yet even in this, we must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers (Ephesians 6:12). Our prayer is not one of hatred but of righteous indignation, crying out for justice and for the Lord to intervene. We pray that if ###’s heart is hardened like Pharaoh’s, that God would either break her in repentance or remove her influence to prevent further harm to ###. We also pray for the people of ###—that their eyes would be opened to the truth, that they would seek God’s wisdom in electing leaders who fear Him, and that they would not be deceived by wicked schemes.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up the nation of ###, a land that has known Your blessing but is now under the shadow of oppression and deceit. Lord, You see the hearts of all people, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. You know the schemes of the wicked, and You have declared that You will not tolerate injustice forever.
We ask for Your righteous judgment upon ###, who has acted as a modern-day Jezebel, leading many astray and causing harm to Your people. Lord, if she will not repent, we pray that You would remove her influence and thwart her plans. Let her schemes be exposed, and let the people of ### see the truth of her actions. Do not allow the innocent to suffer at the hands of the wicked, but rise up, O God, and defend the cause of the oppressed.
We pray for the leaders of ###, that You would either convict their hearts to turn from wickedness or replace them with godly men and women who will govern with integrity. Raise up leaders who fear You, who seek justice, and who will protect the rights of their own people. Let the policies that harm ###ans be overturned, and let righteousness prevail in the land.
Father, we also pray for the people of ###—that they would not be deceived but would seek Your face in this time of trouble. Open their eyes to the spiritual battle being waged, and stir their hearts to pray and stand for truth. Let Your Church in ### rise up in unity, praying fervently for their nation and proclaiming Your Word without fear.
We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, who is the only name by which we can approach Your throne. May Your will be done in ### as it is in heaven. Strengthen Your people, expose the works of darkness, and let Your justice roll down like waters. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
To those who have brought this request, we urge you to continue praying without ceasing. The Lord hears the cries of His people, and He will act. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Stand firm in the faith, knowing that the Lord is sovereign over all nations and leaders. He will have the final say. Keep your hearts guarded against bitterness, but let righteous anger fuel your prayers for justice and repentance. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him in truth.
