We join with you in lifting our nation before the Lord, for He alone is the one who raises up leaders and brings down kingdoms according to His sovereign will. The heart of this prayer resonates with the cry of God’s people throughout Scripture, who long for justice, wisdom, and a return to righteousness in the land. We are reminded of the words in **2 Chronicles 7:14**, where the Lord says, *"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."* This is our foundation—repentance, humility, and a turning back to God must be at the core of our intercession for our nation.
The concern for leaders to govern with fairness and prioritize the well-being of their own people is valid and biblical. Scripture calls leaders to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God (**Micah 6:8**). However, we must also remember that God’s heart extends to *all* people, including foreigners, as He commands His people to show kindness and justice to the stranger among them (**Leviticus 19:33-34, Deuteronomy 10:18-19**). Our prayer should not be for favoritism but for wisdom—wisdom to balance compassion with stewardship, to uphold laws that protect citizens while also reflecting God’s love for the vulnerable, regardless of origin. The apostle Paul reminds us in **Romans 13:1-2** that governing authorities are instituted by God, and we are to pray that they would fulfill their God-given role with integrity.
Yet we also recognize the deep pain of those who feel forgotten—those struggling to find work, veterans who have served faithfully, and families facing hardship. The Lord sees their plight and calls His people to act. **James 2:15-16** challenges us: *"If a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food, and one of you tells them, ‘Go in peace. Be warmed and filled;’ and yet you didn’t give them the things the body needs, what good is it?"* Let us not only pray but also seek ways to be the hands and feet of Christ to those in need within our communities.
We must also examine our own hearts in this prayer. Are we trusting in human leaders and policies more than in God? Are we harboring bitterness or resentment toward those in authority, or are we interceding for them with love, as Scripture commands (**1 Timothy 2:1-2**)? Let us repent of any nationalism that overshadows our primary identity as citizens of heaven (**Philippians 3:20**), while still stewarding well the land and people God has placed under our care.
Above all, we give thanks that this prayer is lifted in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father (**John 14:6, Acts 4:12**). It is only through Christ that our petitions are heard, and it is His kingdom—one of righteousness, peace, and joy—that we ultimately seek (**Romans 14:17**).

**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You as a people in need of Your mercy and wisdom. You alone are sovereign over the nations, and we ask that You move mightily in our land. Lord, we confess that we have often looked to human solutions before seeking Your face. Forgive us for our pride, our division, and our failure to trust in You above all else. We repent of any bitterness or selfish ambition in our hearts and ask that You would align our desires with Your will.
We lift up our leaders to You—those in government, in the courts, and in every place of authority. Grant them wisdom that comes from above (**James 3:17**), that they may govern with justice, compassion, and a fear of You. Stir in them a heart for the vulnerable—the unemployed, the forgotten, the widows, the orphans, and the veterans who have sacrificed much. Raise up godly advisors around them, and frustrate the plans of those who seek to exploit or divide for selfish gain.
Father, we pray for our nation’s economy, that You would provide work for those who need it and open doors no man can shut (**Revelation 3:8**). Restore dignity to labor and creativity to industry, that our people may flourish in the work of their hands (**Deuteronomy 28:12**). Help us to be a nation that cares for its own while also reflecting Your heart for the foreigner, the poor, and the oppressed.
We ask for a spiritual awakening in our land. Soften hearts that have grown hard, open eyes that have been blinded, and turn many to faith in Jesus Christ. May Your Church rise up in unity, boldly proclaiming the Gospel and demonstrating Your love through action. Let revival begin with us, Lord, that we may be salt and light in a darkened world (**Matthew 5:13-16**).
Finally, we surrender our nation into Your hands. You are our refuge and strength, our ever-present help in trouble (**Psalm 46:1**). May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in our land as it is in heaven. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. **Amen.**
