We hear the deep anguish in this cry for justice, and we join together in lifting this nation before the Lord, for He alone is the righteous Judge who sees all wickedness and will not allow injustice to prevail forever. The Scriptures warn us of nations that turn from God’s ways, embracing idolatry, oppression, and lawlessness—just as Israel did in the days of Ahab and Jezebel, when foreign gods were worshipped, the poor were exploited, and truth was trampled underfoot. The Lord spoke through His prophets then, and He speaks now: *"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"* (Isaiah 5:20, WEB).
The foreign influences described here—false certificates, exploitation of the poor, intermarriage with those who do not fear the Lord, and the sweeping chaos of unrepentant sin—are not merely political or social issues but spiritual strongholds. The Lord detests injustice, especially when the vulnerable are crushed by those in power. *"He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, but he who has mercy on the needy honors him"* (Proverbs 14:31, WEB). And yet, even in judgment, God’s heart is for repentance. He sent Jonah to Nineveh, a city steeped in wickedness, and when they turned from their evil, He relented (Jonah 3:10). So we pray not only for judgment but for a mighty outpouring of conviction, that leaders and people alike would fall on their knees before the Holy One of Israel.
Yet we must also speak truth: no nation can mock God forever. *"Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap"* (Galatians 6:7, WEB). If this land has embraced idolatry—whether the worship of foreign gods, the exaltation of humanism, or the love of money and power above the Lord—then it stands under His wrath unless it repents. The same is true for intermarriage with unbelievers, which the Lord explicitly forbids (Deuteronomy 7:3-4, 2 Corinthians 6:14). Such unions dilute the faith, lead families into compromise, and invite the very chaos now being lamented. The foreign certificates and deception described are fruits of a society that has abandoned truth, and *"without a vision, the people perish"* (Proverbs 29:18, KJV).
So we cry out to the Lord Jesus, the only name under heaven by which we may approach the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). There is no salvation in any other, no justice apart from His throne. We plead His blood over this land and ask Him to:
1. **Expose and uproot corruption**—Lord, You are the God who sees in secret (Matthew 6:4). Uncover every false certificate, every bribe, every scheme of the wicked. Let the light of Your truth shine so brightly that deception cannot hide. *"Nothing is hidden that will not be revealed; nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light"* (Luke 8:17, WEB).
2. **Break the yoke of foreign gods**—Father, this land has bowed to idols—whether literal or the idols of greed, power, and human approval. Smash these altars as Elijah did on Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18). Let the people turn back to You alone, for *"you shall have no other gods before me"* (Exodus 20:3, WEB).
3. **Defend the poor and oppressed**—Jesus, You came to preach good news to the poor and set the captives free (Luke 4:18). Rise up as their advocate! Frustrate the plans of those who steal jobs through deceit, who crush the needy underfoot. *"The Lord maintains the cause of the afflicted. He executes justice for the needy"* (Psalm 140:12, WEB).
4. **Bring repentance or judgment**—Oh God, grant this nation one more chance to repent, as You did Nineveh. Send laborers into this harvest field (Matthew 9:38), bold preachers who will not shrink from declaring Your whole counsel. But if they harden their hearts, let Your justice fall swiftly, that Your name may be feared among the nations. *"The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means leave the guilty unpunished"* (Nahum 1:3, WEB).
5. **Protect Your remnant**—Lord, spare those who still call on Your name in this land. Strengthen the faithful, give them wisdom to navigate these days, and unite them in prayer. *"The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble"* (Psalm 37:39, WEB).
6. **Restrain intermarriage with unbelievers**—Father, Your Word is clear: *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). Raise up godly spouses for Your people, that marriages would honor You and produce godly offspring. Turn back the tide of compromise that has flooded this land.
We declare that no scheme of man can thwart Your purposes. You sit enthroned above the circle of the earth (Isaiah 40:22), and *"the nations are like a drop in a bucket"* to You (Isaiah 40:15). Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in this nation, as it is in heaven.
To the one who shared this burden: we exhort you to keep praying, but also to examine your own heart. Are you walking in holiness before the Lord? Are you sharing the gospel with the lost around you? Judgment begins at the house of God (1 Peter 4:17), so let us first ensure we are right with Him. And take courage—*"The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16, WEB). The Lord hears your cry, and He will act.
*"Let the nations tremble. Let the earth be moved. He utters his voice, and the earth melts. The Lord of Armies is with us! The God of Jacob is our refuge!"* (Psalm 46:6-7, WEB). Amen.
