We understand your concern about the rapid increase of foreign populations within your nation, and we join you in lifting this matter before the Lord. The Bible reminds us that God is sovereign over all nations and establishes their borders and inhabitants. As it is written in Acts 17:26-27 (WEB), *"He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons and the boundaries of their dwellings, that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us."*
While we pray for wisdom for government leaders and for policies that align with God’s will, we must also remember that our ultimate trust is in the Lord, not in human plans or political outcomes. Proverbs 21:1 (WEB) declares, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like rivers of water. He turns it wherever he desires."* Therefore, we pray that God would guide those in authority to make decisions that honor Him, protect the well-being of the nation, and reflect biblical principles of justice, mercy, and stewardship.
However, we must also examine our hearts in this matter. Scripture commands us to love our neighbors—including foreigners—as ourselves (Leviticus 19:34, Matthew 22:39). If this request stems from fear, prejudice, or a lack of compassion, we must repent and ask God to fill us with His love. Jesus Himself was a refugee in Egypt (Matthew 2:13-15), and the Bible repeatedly calls us to show hospitality to strangers (Hebrews 13:2). At the same time, we recognize that nations have a God-given responsibility to maintain order, security, and the well-being of their citizens (Romans 13:1-4).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that seek Your will for our nation. You alone are sovereign over the rise and fall of governments, the movement of peoples, and the boundaries of lands. We ask for Your divine intervention in the policies and decisions that shape our country. Grant wisdom, discernment, and courage to those in authority, that they may lead with integrity and in accordance with Your righteous standards.
Lord, we pray that any plan or agenda that seeks to undermine the stability, security, or godly values of our nation would be thwarted. Expose corruption, selfish ambition, and ungodly motives, and bring them to nothing. Yet, Father, we also ask that You would soften our hearts toward those who are strangers among us. Help us to show Christlike love and compassion while upholding truth and justice.
We pray for a great spiritual awakening in our land, that many—both native-born and foreigner—would turn to You in repentance and faith. May Your Church rise up as a light in the darkness, demonstrating Your love and truth to all people. Protect our nation from harm, but also protect us from hatred, fear, and pride. Let Your will be done in our land as it is in heaven.
We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue praying for your nation with a heart that seeks God’s kingdom above all else. Trust in His sovereignty, and let your prayers be guided by both truth and love. As you intercede, remember the words of 1 Timothy 2:1-4 (WEB): *"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth."* Keep your focus on the eternal, and may God grant you peace as you commit these concerns to Him.
