We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your ### and the spiritual strongholds that have taken root in his life. Father, we know that Your Word is clear—salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). The deception he is entangled in is dangerous, for it exchanges the truth of the gospel for lies that lead away from You. We rebuke the false teachings that claim vegetarianism or idol worship can redeem sin or grant eternal life, for Scripture declares, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). These cultic beliefs are not merely misguided—they are demonic in origin, blinding him to the truth of the cross.
Lord, we pray that the scales would fall from his eyes and that the Holy Spirit would convict him of the futility of relying on his own efforts or false gods. The occult practices he has embraced—such as seeking a "third eye" to see spirits—are an abomination before You. Your Word warns, "There shall not be found with you anyone who... practices divination, or a soothsayer, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord" (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). We bind these demonic influences in Jesus’ name and command them to leave him. We declare that no power of darkness can withstand the authority of Christ, who has disarmed the rulers and authorities and made a public spectacle of them (Colossians 2:15).
We also address the lie that diet or works can earn salvation. The apostle Paul wrote, "The kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Romans 14:17). Whether one eats meat or abstains means nothing if Christ is not Lord of their life. We pray that your ### would understand that his faith cannot be placed in rituals, idols, or self-effort, but only in the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Father, surround him with believers who will speak truth into his life, who will love him without compromise, and who will model the freedom and joy found only in You.
We ask that You would soften his heart to the gospel, that he would see the emptiness of these cultic beliefs, and that he would turn to Jesus in repentance and faith. Break the chains of deception, Lord, and let Your light shine into the darkness of his mind. May he come to know the truth that sets men free (John 8:32) and experience the new life that comes only through Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the gates of hell will not prevail against the work You are doing in his life.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name that saves, the only name that heals, and the only name that breaks every chain. Amen.
